16 week appt

So we go about every 4 weeks to the doctor. What do they do at 16 weeks? Apparently there is no sono or anything so what do they do? Would it be too pushy to ask for a sono that night and see if they can tell what it is?


ETA: I just read that gender determination is 94% accurate at 14 weeks and I will be 16w5d at my next appt.

I just had mine - check bp - urine and we heart the heartbeat for the first time. Doctor also gave us information to schedule or Level II sono.

I just had my 16 week on thursday, the reason for it was to do the AFP blood test, which measures for Spinal Bifida, we will have the results in 5 days. I also was pushing for a Sono but I guess the Office is really busy, so all we did was listen to the heart beat to make sure everything was fine. It was kinda scary as at first the OB could not find the heart beat, it was probobly only for l 5 minutes that he has searching but it felt like 2 hours. I guess the baby was positiioned really low, and it was more difficult to find. I got so nervous, I actually had Diarrhea for the rest of the night.... . But thank god everything went ok, we find out the sex at my level 2 in two weeks. Cant wait!!

my dr's office has done a sono at every appointment so far, so i am going to ask... they have techs in the office but the doctors use an older machine, and they usually seem pretty accommodating. it can't hurt to ask!! i will be 15W5D at my appointment.

we listened to the heartbeat and i had a urine test, that's about it. i just had a sono ten days or so earlier at my amnio appt, so no sono. we also talked about the upcoming level 2 sono.
