16 week weight gain

Just got back from the Dr. I've gained 10 lbs. in 16 weeks. This sounds like a lot for me. She didn't say anything regarding my weight. I def don't think I gained this much at this point with my last. Ugh. I know I shouldn't google but I did and basically according to different sites, it's a lot! Am I crazy?

That sounds about on point. Everyone is going to be different, if your doctor isn't worried, I wouldn't be worried. STOP GOOGLING!

that was about the same for me too. I try not to stress about the weight gain. I know it will come off. last time I told the nurse not to even tell me what my current weight was. Just don't want it stressing me out!

Everyone gains at their own rate and when they need to gain. As long as you aren't eating tremendous amounts of unhealthy foods, I wouldn't worry about it.

At my 16 week appointment I didn't put any additional weight on from my 8 and 12 week appointments... My doctor wasn't concerned. He said everyone gains at their own pace. I gained a lot at the start. I think about 10 pounds from prepregnacy to 8 weeks and have been steady since. I am expecting the scale to move at my 20 week because my clothes are certainly tighter (as I sit at my desk with my pants unzipped and unbuttoned).

If your doctor isn't worried, then don't worry. I am 16+ weeks and haven't gained anything yet. My dr told me not to stress----we all gain at different points in the pregnancy.

Thanks ladies. I know not to google, I don't know why I did. I just haven't been as conscious to eat as healthy as I did with the first. My stomach bothers me more this time around. I am def going to start eating better.

I am 14 weeks and so far am down 2 pounds. I asked the doctor about this at my 12 week visit and she didn't seem too concerned with it. She said if I am consistently losing weight throughout the 2nd trimester then we'll discuss it.

I think you are right on track. Besides, everything I have read said if you do gain to much your first trimester you should try to keep from over gaining in the your 2nd & 3rd, but shouldn't try to overcompensate for it.

Are you eating healthy? If you are not gorging on junk food and empty calories and you are eating healthy I wouldn't worry about it.

Your dr. would tell you if you needed to worry.

10 pounds is a good steady gain - if your doctor isn't worried, don't worry about it :)

I was down 4 at 12 weeks from throwing up. But it came back, no problem once the nausea stopped.

I am 27 weeks and I've gained 24 lbs....its more than my DR wanted, and to be honest, I have not been overindulging, so I am just chalking it up to its what my body needs to do.....

I think that's fine. I gained around 8-10 by then and only went on to gain 23 during my whole pregnancy. Everyone gains weight at different rates. I only gained 1-2 pounds my third trimester.
