18 months and doesnt want to sleep
As I posted last week Sara has always been a great sleeper until last week. Now that is is almost 18 months this has all changed. Sara will not go to sleep on her own. I used to be able to put her in her crib and that was that. Now she has not be rocked until she is sound asleep. Tonight she didnt fall asleep until 11:00 . She did take a late nap today (3:00) . I dont know what to do. I really need her going to sleep by 8:30 the latest. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have to wake her tomorrow morning early ( by 8:00 ) bc I have something to do at 9AM. Hopefully that will work for tomorrow night.
We have a babysitter coming Friday night . I might have to tell her to just let Sara stay up and fall asleep on the couch

Re: 18 months and doesnt want to sleep
My girls are 18 months and are in bed by 6:30-7pm and wake up about 7:30am.
My advise is to let her CIO until she gets use to falling asleep on her own. I think this is the age that if you start rocking or using other remedies to get her to sleep she will get use to that and know that if she cries and fusses someone will come in to get her..
Also my girls take 1 nap a day 11am-1pm. I think 3pm is a lttle late if you want her in bed by 8pm. Of course these are just my suggestions and what i have done. This seems to be working well in my home.
Hope this helps,

Re: 18 months and doesnt want to sleep
Thanks so much. I normally do liike her to nap at 11 or so but she fell asleep in the car today. I tired CIO and sshe is relentless with her screaming. SHe doesnt let her up at all . SHe also throws her blanket and stuffed animals out of ger crib and her binkies. I will try CIO again tomorrow though.

Reese is the same way..she could be relentless she screams and carries on sometimes. Not so much with sleeping but if she doesn't get her way..She has temper tantrums.
Well good luck
