18 weeks & 2nd pregnancy fetal movement
I can't remember for the life of me remember what week I started noticing fetal movement in my 1st pregnancy. I do remember having a bump though. My 16 week sono was 8/17 and all was good. I did let my OB know I didn't feel any kicks & he said I wasn't going to til about 20+ weeks or so but can't remember the reasons why. My DH remembers him saying I still may not feel yet because the fluid layer is still too thick to feel kicks yet. He used a pillow as an analogy.
I am busy working FT & have an 18 month old toddler. My relaxation starts about 9pm daily so I am always on the go doing something. Haven't felt anything even at my desk at work.
How soon in 2nd pregnancy did you feel kicking? ?

Do you have posterior placenta? I think that's what it's called, where the placenta is blocking the stomach so you won't feel kicks until the placenta moves, which is usually around 20ish weeks. This is my 4th so I felt the baby really early like 12-13 weeks, and I think around 15 weeks with my 2nd.

Yes I believe he did mention placenta & don't expect to feel total movement til about 20 weeks or so. That's when he used the pillow as an example. Good thing my DH Was in the room to help remember all this.

Re: 18 weeks & 2nd pregnancy fetal movement
It's actually an anterior placenta when the placenta is in front of the baby, and absorbing it's kicks. I had this with #1, and didn't feel movement until 24 weeks.
Just found out that again, my placenta is anterior. I'm 17 weeks, and do not anticipate feeling anything for a few more weeks again.

My first 2 pregnancies, I had an anterior placenta & didn't fee anything til my mid 20weeks pregnancy.
My 3rd pregnancy, my placenta was posterior & I started feeling kicks at 20 weeks.

Re: 18 weeks & 2nd pregnancy fetal movement
We are due around the same time and my dd is 17.5 months. I felt my daughter around 16 month. So far I think I am feeling very slight movement (i was 17 weeks on Tuesday) but I am not sure. I was told I may not feel movement till later, because I have posterior placenta. I wouldn't worry yet by any means.

Re: 18 weeks & 2nd pregnancy fetal movement
I was freaking out by 20 weeks with my second because I hasn't felt anything. Everything i read said that you feel it so much earlier with your second! My doctor said that's not always true, and many don't feel the baby til around 22-23 weeks.
I'm hitting 23 weeks tomorrow, and this whole week has been insane frequent movements! I definitely worried for nothing.

I know you feel the kicks when you're relaxed, which I never am with an 18 month old to care for. As I sit on the couch, I THINK I felt a little something but, like a pop but who knows? If that makes sense. My OB mentioned 20+ weeks. I just forgot exactly when I felt the kicks with the first pregnancy.
Thank you.

Re: 18 weeks & 2nd pregnancy fetal movement
Though I didn't go full term with my frst pregnancy (made it to 31 weeks), I felt movement around the 17 week mark. This time around, currently at 20w3d, I have an anterior placenta and amd JUST starting to feel very faint flutters a couple times a day.
