1st b'day invite list ques
When you invite your mommy friends-- you know, people you have met since you had the baby... do you invite their DH's too? Typically, do their DH's come??

I really only invited the mommies and babies. I figured the DH's wouldn't want to come and it also kept the guest list somewhat more manageable.

I think it's a good idea to. What kind of party are you having? At a place where it's per person or just some friends at your house?

I am not sure yet... and from the one place I spoke to-- adults don't matter in terms of price (food not included), but then again-- I still need to feed them.
Then of course, it's where to cut it off-- we have a large group in town-- of course some I am closer to than others, but I don't want to alienate anyone. And Sasha is one of the oldest-- so it will be the first party, so I guess I am setting the precedent.

Don't worry too much about feeding them. You can always do pizza's, chips, soda, etc. If you have to... narrow it down to family and close friends. You can always do a 2nd little get together with your friends (then you don't have to worry about their DH) to celebrate. Something during the day with their kids and make it like a playdate/b-day party.

that's a really good idea-- I can do it on her actual b day since it's during the week...
At this point, I have about 65 adults, and potentially 25 kids... That's just if everyone comes though.

A good friend of mine did that. She two parties for her DD b/c her family is so big. She did a party at a hall for her family and closest friends (ones she grew up with or new a looong time) then during the week she had a playdate/birthday party for her "mommy" friends in the area she met later on. Got a cake and got some games for the kids.

Re: 1st b'day invite list ques
We've been to two 1st bdays recently and DH came with me to both. If nothing else, it's an extra set of hands to help out. I'm planning on inviting the kids with their parents. I don't have that many kids I'm inviting outside my nephews and neice.

The mommy friends that I've met since having DS do a separate party for the mommies and babies. It's a GTG at the house with lunch and cake, typically during the week on a day that most people have off (Labor Day, Columbus Day, etc).
