1st Bday party favors
What do i get? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. DD bday is in october if that means anything. I want to do something nice but am just really at a loss for ideas as i have no experience with any of this. Thanks ladies!!

We are doing favors for young kids only and just giving a trick or treating bag /princess/cars with some little things inside

we are doing books :) I may add a few other things (bubbles, sunglasses, playdough) but I haven't decided this yet (BTW - I am not crazy and bought books from the store. . . I am a teacher and used the dollar books and my bonus points from scholastic).

My DS's b-day is October and for his 1st birthday, we kind of did a fall theme ( not decoration wise, but activity wise)...
One of the things we did was buy a wheel barrow full of small pumpkins and we hid them in the yard and let the kids go pumpkin picking...I then got the self stick felt pumpkin faces from Oriental Trading and I set up a table for them to decorate them...I turned it into a contest ( silliest face, scariest etc...) Kids ALL ages loved this !!! These were the favors, along with some candy for the older ones..

we did age/sex appropriate favors my my DSs 1st birthday...
since he is a summer baby here are some of the things we included:
baby einstein DVDs (for the 6 month and under babies)
bubbles
hair clips/bands/brushes (baby size and regular size for older girls)
balls (the size of baseballs & handball size)
pail & shovel
tattoos
chalk
(older kids) $5 McD gift cert
we had a pinata and gave everyone a bag with some candy (so everyone got some) and they they filled the bag with whatever came out of the pinata

I just gave out bubbles with a label with DD's picture on it, that said Happy 1st Birthday Natalie!

We did coloring books/crayons/candy for the kids and did hershey bars with a custom wrapping for the adults.
