1st Birthday Decorations-question and general budget help
So we are gonna start planning DS's 1st birthday. I originally just wanted something small (family only) but DH wants our friends and their kids to come too. So, there will be maybe 5-6 kids (mostly little ones).
So, now I was looking on birthday express. Is that website the cheapest? I cannot spend a lot of money on this party. Its now like over 30 adults. I gonna do a hero and a Costco/BJ/Sams Club cake. Plus soda & beer (yes, sorry, my family is beer people) its gonna add up.
I don't want to spend a lot of decorations & favors. I do want a traditional 1st birthday theme.
Any budget help would greatly be appreciated (we would be hosting it at my parents house).
It would be middle of January

I bought a sesame street theme at the dollar store by our house. The one on sunrise hwy. Go down and see what they have. In fact I think they have a website online that maybe you can see what they currently have. Is it dollartree? I can see the sign (green and white) but am unsure of the name.

dont go crazy with decorations.. i got some of dd decorations there.
they have really cute balloons that have the #1 on them that i got there and they have the Giant #1 also.
i also got a b-day banner from them as well.. they have free personlaization.. it was cheeper than party city.

Re: 1st Birthday Decorations-question and general budget help
We just had DD's 2nd birthday party with family at my house last weekend with 15 people. Here is what I spent:
Decorations - $110 Appetizers - $70 Hero - $85 Beer - $60 Cake - $30 Cupcakes - $60 (and yes, it was totally worth it!)
I also made baked ziti, meatballs and sausages.

Re: 1st Birthday Decorations-question and general budget help
thanks girl. I may check out the paper store in the Bellport outlets & dollar tree before I spend money with birthday expression. I don't want to spend more than $50 on decorations, balloons & kids favors.
Thanks again, any more advice is greatly welcomed!

Re: 1st Birthday Decorations-question and general budget help
Birthday Express is definitely more expensive than a paper goods store or local party store.
Try Paper Factory in Tanger or there is a nice party goods place on 111 in Hauppage behind the Wendy's (Party Glitter). VERY nice selection and prices are pretty good!
