1st Birthday Gift Suggestions
My best friend's daughter recently turned 1 and I am looking for a gift for her. Any suggestions on a good gift for a 1 year old besides clothes?

I would say maybe a radio flyer wagon or step 2 wagon... A play kitchen is also cute... Maybe one of those little red cars that they push themselves in... Books & DVDs are always a good gift. One of those little pull out sofa couches from toys R us or a little chair. I have a 1 year old, can you tell?

Anything Little People is good. DD got the bus for her 1st birthday. When she first got it, she would just walk around with the people but now at 15 months she is figuring out the bus - how to open and close the doors, pushing it around on the floor and putting the people in and out.
I really think that this is a toy that she will get a lot of use out of for a long time - especially as we add on other sets.
DD will not sit in any chair, so something like that would be a waste on her.

My niece was 13 months at christmas...She got some little people, a ride on toy, the fisher price little superstar stage, And some toy with a chair and activity center.
She loved the ride on and the chair the most. She even opened her gifts while sitting in the ride on.

I think toys are tough because it is so soon after Christmas. I am hoping DD doesn't get a lot of toys for her 1st birthday next month.
Maybe something nice for the baby's room or a GC to Toys R Us.

IMO most 1 year olds have a lot of toys already. You could buy a bank and fill it with say $25 in change, or do Mom a favor and make up a basket of wipes, diapers, lotions etc...
