1st Mother's Day Gift
DH asked me the other day what I wanted for Mother's Day. Money is really tight and I had told him a while ago I just wanted some annuals for the garden. He told me that he wants to get me something that will last and commemorate my 1st Mother's Day, but again, we don't have money right now. My question is, what did your DH get you for your first Mother's Day?
As of right now our plans are to go to the Westbury Gardens and he is making dinner for me

I asked for these earrings I saw. I usually wear hoops and DD has been grabbing a hold of them lately so I need smaller earrings. I think he got them!

I too got flowers for the garden, and I bought ones that would come back every year. I actually think that's the perfect way to mark the 1st mother's day, because each year when they come up, you will remember when you got them!
Maybe a tree that you could watch grow, and tell DS that it was planted for your first mother's day (so it's his age)?

I asked for a nice day at the Spa. All i do is hold DD and walk her around for hours, my arms and back are killing me lolol

I got a Movado watch, he picked it out himself.
The second year, I got a mommy necklace that I chose - it was around $50.
I wear both of the above every day.
This year, I'm getting annuals for the flower pots and Crumbs cupcakes. My request.

I asked for a pendant from Etsy.com...Look up MOM charms, they have some cute stuff or only $20-$30!

I was just going to suggest perennials or a trees. Peonies are my personal favorite and they only bloom this time of year so you will see them every year around Mother's Day, or a couple weeks thereafter depending on the winter.

I agree - inexpensive MOM necklace or a tree. If you were going to have more kids, I might wait on the mom necklace - always afraid my "kid" would be discontinued and I'd have to get a whole new necklace or something.

Money is SUPER tight for us as well...so when my DH asked me that same question, I told him I'd like a birthstone ring of DS... preferably a stackable ring so I can add our other childrens to it. I found a nice one at Zales for about 40

DH had a canvas collage made up with 5 pictures of DS and it says "There is no better friend than a mother, and there is no better mother than you. Happy Mother's Day! Love, Christopher

for my 1st MD, I got black diamond earrings. This year I got a ring that says mom and has some tiny diamonds on it. I emailed him the link and said what size. My DH needs direction sometimes.
