1st time flying with baby

Just booked our fllights to FL for November. Our dd will be 4 1/2 months...I'm already anxious about it. Any words of wisdom from BTDT moms?!

Re: 1st time flying with baby

i flew to florida with dd when she was 5 months old...i stressed and stressed over it but she was great!!!

during take off and landing i nursed her or gave her the pacifier - it didnt seem to bother her at all. I brought some toys with clips and clipped them to the window shade and one to the tray table this way she couldnt drop them.
for the flight home it was during her bedtime (we landed at 8pm and she normally is sleeping around 7)...that last hour wasnt fun,. she would fall asleep but woke up and couldnt get herself back to sleep (probably uncomfortable in my lap). but as much as she whined/cried, we got off the plane and people that were diagonal from us said they didnt even notice that there was a baby on the flight (since the noise of the plane was pretty loud).
we took a big beach bag type bag instead of a diaper bag - this way we could get toys/diapers etc very easily while on the flight.

At 4.5 months it is EASY!!!!!! Bottle at take off and landing and my DS slept the entire time.

If your DD sleeps in the car she will proably sleep on the plane.

Traveling is Easy when they are young.

Flying when their young is super easy dont worry!
Bring benadryl and motrin or tylenol just in case. Bring plenty of diapers and a change of outfit. Formula if shes on it. Blanket. Socks.

Bring her fave toy and a new toy.

And like the other 2 girls said bottle or paci at take off and landing if shes up. Otherwise im sure shes gonna sleep through it.

Good luck! :)

There is nothing you can do if her ears bother her other than giving something to drink as the sucking generally will help them clear.

worst that will happen is that she will cry.
