Re: 2 BOXERS need a new home!
I can't say how much I agree with Lolita! And to the poster that said "it's a hard enough decision, they shouldn't feel bad about it"...ummmm, yes, they should feel bad about it...perhaps this is a temporary period of time for littlemadismommy, and she will be better able to balance her time when the baby gets a little bigger....what then? she can't take the dogs back from thier new home. my suggestion to littlemadismommy is perhaps take the dogs to doggy daycare once or twice a week, it's not that expensive and three village canine has two great places, one in ronkonkoma and one in port jeff....if you really think you can't make it work, then as others have said try boxer rescue organizations....I would first try to put myself into the mind set of your dogs, they love you and your dh, and now there's a new member to the pack...they know that you're busy with the baby, and they love you unconditionally....it might be possible that you're just overwhelmed right now, and need some help...could a relative take them for a week or something, to give you a little perspective....I would hate for you to regret this decision......

Re: 2 BOXERS need a new home!
I totally agree If they finally relized that they have there hands full with their children and would like a better home for the dogs, why comment it better then leaving them in a park somewhere or a shelter Give the mom a break. I have a 9 month old lab and a 3 1.2 year old and I am 9 months pregnant and sometimes I feel like I have my hands full with kids, cooking , cleaning, food shopping, laundry and then to think about walking the dog feeding and giving it a little attention by the end of the night you dont want to give anyone attention but yourself

Re: 2 BOXERS need a new home!
I agree that getting a dog is a lifetime commitment and it does seem like a lot a people give them up so easily. I am a mother and recently adopted a dog and love them both the same. My dog is my second child. But I am not in the poster's (littlemadismommy) shoes, and every person's situation is different. It seems like there are a lot of people putting their dogs up for adoption lately, but I would rather them come here and see if anyone on these forums is willing or knows of someone who is willing to adopt rather than drop the dog off at a shelter. They are at least trying to find them a good home. And I am afraid that if we jump down a persons throat each time an adoption story gets posted than people will stop wanting to post about it. I adopted my dog Snickers from this website and I love him dearly. I would hate for someone not to post anymore because everyone keeps going off on how bad it is.
