2 different Jobs

Which one do you think is the best choice?

1. Fulltime job, close to home, take home after babysitters fees about $300 (pay ok to pay the bills).

2. Parttime (fulltime in the spring/summer), not as close to home but ranges from 10mins to 30mins. so not too far. Winter hours not so great but can make more than double in the spring and summer which can help with the money lost for the winter.

I know this is probably a stupid question but I am not good with flexible things and like stability.

If you like stability, I'd say choice #1 sounds like the better match for you.

Re: 2 different Jobs

In the economy I think I would prefer the steady job.

What is the advantage to the part time work? Are you making more overall?

Stability is a huge factor especially when you have children (at least it would be for me) so I would say go for the first job and continue to look for a better paying job.

the "non-steady" because it is something more enjoyable and room for growth.

--The flexibilty.

--Not needing babysitters for the kids (that saves $100/week and for their days off when no school)

--Not sure if making overall because it goes week by week the schedule

Unforttunately, with this economy, I would take something steady. I just did and I am so thankful, even though I haven't gotten paid yet, to know that I am making a steady income after years in the restaurant biz while in college.

sounds good. You really have to know yourself and your tolerance. Sounds like it fits better than the other for you.

Re: 2 different Jobs

you would take home $300 a week or a month?

honestly, $300 a month would barely cover gas, wear and tear and wardrobe expenses - doesn't pay to work if that's the case.

Our bills are quite low and we can afford to live on that little amount (with my check also).
After-care takes $100 right off your check each week and then you have to consider camp and care during days off which can be easily done by my dh or I.
