Re: 2 months appt - what can i expect?
My girls were just a bit more sleepy from the vaccs for a couple days. Both my girls got 4 shots, and my little one got 4 plus the oral rotavirus.
otherwise, I just asked the doc a ton of questions about everytihng-sleeping, eating, milestones, skin, diaper rash etc. The doc gives them a good once over checking their joints etc.
It'll be okay
ETA: It's always harder on me than them

just had ours as well.....went over where he is developmentally, they checked his weight and length, measured his head, listened to his heart, edhis reflexes, answered questions and yes, they typically do shots (we are delaying so did not have shots at this visit) Now we don't go back unitl 4 months!

You can give Tylenol before the shots to help with the pain. DD DID cry when she got the shots, but calmed down immediately once I could pick her up. She had no side effects at all other than being tired.

I remember that they gave DS some tylenol BEFORE the shot and I gave him two more rounds ( 4 hrs apart) at home
They get the shots in their legs, so his/her legs might be sensitive after
I remember DS was sleepy for the next 2 days

Re: 2 months appt - what can i expect?
DS was traumatized, but he started crying before the doctor even touched him. He just didn't like the whole process at all, and only cried a little harder with the shots.
Most doctors give Hep B, HIB, DTap, and sometimes rotavirus vaccines at this visit. I think Polio may be recommended for 2 months also. You do not have to do all of these shots at once if you are uncomfortable with it though--many people work out staggered schedules with their doctors, so talk about that if you are interested. We are doing this, so we need to go back this month (3 months) for two vaccines.
Other than that, she checked his eyes, ears, nose, and throat, weight, length, head circumfrince, and she checked his strength and physical development. She also asked me questions about his social development, was he smiling, babbling, etc.
Good luck!
