2 questions - pooping in potty & transitioning to bed (sorry long)
First question: DS has been doing great with peeing in the potty and staying dry all through the night (knock wood) We did start potty training much later than other people- we waiting until his 3rd birthday - but i didn't want to drag it out a long time and figured he may get it quicker if he was older. he pee trained within three days and has been doing great so far. Now pooping in the potty is another issues all together.
He will not poop in the potty at all. He either holds it in or runs into the bathroom and poops in his underwear. I know it is because he's scared but how do I help him get over this fear?
Transitioning to a bed...
We let DS stay in the crib for as long as he fit in it but now that he's three we felt it was time to move to a toddler bed. He was so excited to get his bed and played in it all day long. When it came to go to sleep he completely broke down and was hysterical with no consoling him. DH finally had to take the bed out and reassemble the crib for him to go to sleep. Maybe it was asking too much too soon between the potty training and getting a new bed. I don't know but I feel bad that he was so upset last night and nothing I did calmed him down.
Maybe we waited too long to do these things but now with the bed situation we are thinking of cancelling our trip to see thomas the train in PA in 2 weeks because he probably won't sleep in the travel bed we brought.

Im going thru the exact same scene over here too. Bryan went poop once on the potty since then has been scared to go again. I dont understand. We made such a big deal out of the poop he was so excited and since then he willl either hold it or go in is underwear- he is great with pee. He is at daycare and he is doing great as well with pee but still no poop there. Last time he went was mon morn in his underwear since then nothing, I really hope he is not making himself constipated. I put a pull up on him at night which really doesnt need because he is always dry but moreso in hopes that he will go poop in their. I dont want him making himself sick holding it in. Better out then in at this point ya know. Let me know if you find anything that works- I hear this is pretty common...
