2 year old Mommies!
How many sentences would you say your child has??
And what are some of them?
Just looking to see what our toddlers are saying nowadays.
Thanks!

Re: 2 year old Mommies!
Michael does not have that many complete sentences. He does say: - What is this? - Mama, ______ (whatever he wants he says here) - _______ upstairs (for my dad, etc. whoever he is talking about upstairs)
That is all I can remember right now.

Re: 2 year old Mommies!
DD has a pretty vast vocabulary. Yesterday she said Quesadilla for the first time, and repeated stethoscope after her doc appt. She knows all her colors, shapes, sings the alphabet song, recognizes and knows letters, counts to 20, makes 5 word sentences-she's 27 months old.
My crack up sentence of the week..we were doing reading time before bed and she was playing with her hamper, i told her to get a book 3 times so mommy can read, and she looks at me all diva like and goes "Whoah, Mommy, Whoah, (with her hand out and up), calm down" I wanted to die

Kerri has a pretty good vocabulary....Yesterday she told me to "Shake the maraca with her"...and I am like, how did you know that word
She will talk in complete sentences to me now...and counts EVERYTHING she sees...she can get to 20 now.

She speaks like you or I speak. I would call her a fluent speaker. She uses present and past tenses in the appropriate manner, too.

Grace is 19 months and is a big talker. We just started sentences a couple of weeks ago and she is still figuring it out- its pretty funny to watch her try to form them. Her favorite right now- I do it!

Re: 2 year old Mommies!
Lauren's vocabulary has exploded in the last 3 months. She can now hold conversations with you, in full sentences. Sometimes I don't alway sget what she says, but we were on vacation with my family last week and everyone told me they could understand what she was saying!
I think the cutest thing is when DH calls home during the day and gets on the phone with him. She actually will tell DH what she is doing!

Re: 2 year old Mommies!
Hmmm...DD has lots of words, but no full sentences. She knows the whole alpahbet and knows her numbers up to 10. The only sentence I can think of that she uses, is "thank you mommy"
ETA: At daycare...they say she talks all day long. She will be 2 in a couple of weeks.

Re: 2 year old Mommies!
My DS is almost 27 months and throws 3 words together a lot recently (past month) but they're all so different. My oldest was speaking in full & long sentences at 18 months so it's really very hard to compare kids in general at this age IMO.

Re: 2 year old Mommies!
DS is almost 2 1/2. He speaks in full sentences, has an excellent vocab, knows the lyrics to many songs, can count to 20, knows the alphabet and can spell out a few words, etc.
I am especially proud of this because one yr ago, at 18 months, he had a significant speech delay. No words at all, even mama or daddy, and a very limited range of babbling. We have done private speech therapy 3x a week since then, and I have worked with him EVERY day. His speech pathologist told me recently that he is completely at age level now! His only remaining issue is an articulation problem (his words can be unclear) that we are going to continue his speech therapy for!

Re: 2 year old Mommies!
DD is almost two and everything that comes out of her mouth is in sentence form. Some 5 or 6 words long. She talks about herself in the third person but only when she is talking about her feelings. My favorite is: "Mommy, the baby is sad."
Oh her funny one this morning: "Mommy, I play with Rina please." ('Rina' is her cousin who won't be born for another 9 days, lol)
Oh and I heard her telling an Elmo doll to "Calm down Elmo, alright?"

Re: 2 year old Mommies!
Andrew is 26 months old and he can say everything and anything. And you can clearly understand everything he says.
He was a very early speaker. I think maybe that had something to do with it.
He told me before that it would be wonderful if we could take a ride in Pop Pop's car again I love the words he uses

I think they get that from Gymboree because Molly runs around shouting "maracs" and shaking them.
I bet that is where she gets it
