20 weeks and no kicking :(
Should I be worried? I had more flutters a few weeks back. I see from my other May mothers that they are feeling kicks both inside and outside of their bellies and that their DH's can even feel it

Re: 20 weeks and no kicking :(
Nope. I couldn't either. 22 weeks is the cutoff. Do you have an anterior placenta?

I don't know. I have my Level II this Thursday. What is an anterior placenta by the way? What do you mean that 22 weeks is the cut off?

I believe an anterior placenta is when the placenta is towards your belly (mine is posterior so it's towards my back). You may not be feeling it b/c could be kicking the placenta (just a guess).
I'm also wondering what PP means by 22 weeks is the cut off?

Re: 20 weeks and no kicking :(
My doc told me that I should start feeling the baby between 18-22 weeks. I felt the LO around 16-17 weeks and now at 26 weeks is he moving and kicking a lot stronger. I think some people feel the baby sooner and some later. you have felt flutters and that's def. a positive. Also in the beginning for me i didn't feel them consistently from day-to-day.
I would mention it at the Level II just to put your mind at ease

Yes, that is exactly what an anterior placenta is. The reason it is 22 weeks is because by then, the baby is big enough to feel.
Right now, the baby is not big enough so the kicks are not forceful enough to be felt through the placenta. There is a lot more to kick through with an anterior placenta!

I didn't feel baby from the outside until 22 weeks! I was nervous about it too! Don't worry.
Also, I'm a May mommy, but VERY early May, so I'm 24 weeks already. Remember that you may be a couple/few weeks behind other May mommies, so you may not be feeling it yet just because of where you are in your weeks. It will happen!!

One of my close friends didn't feel her baby until 27 weeks. I would just bring it up to your OB next visit.

Re: 20 weeks and no kicking :(
20 weeks is still very early to feel anything. I started to feel random thumps around 22 weeks and it wasn't consistent.
I didn't consistently feel movement until 31 weeks. I also had an anterior placenta, so it was harder to feel the movement early on.

Re: 20 weeks and no kicking :(
I didn't feel DD kick until around 22 weeks with my 1st pg.
This time around I have an anterior placenta so they said it would be harder to feel the kicks because of that also.

Re: 20 weeks and no kicking :(
I didn't really feel anything then either.
DH felt a small kick for the first time when I was about 25/26 weeks.
I still only feel intermittent movement. The baby will go crazy for a minute then I won't feel anything for hours.

Re: 20 weeks and no kicking :(
I am 22 weeks and the slight movements I feel are very random. I've only felt a real kick maybe twice when I was laying down with my hand on my belly. At 20 weeks I wasn't feeling much.

Re: 20 weeks and no kicking :(
This is my 2nd pregnancy and I did not start feeling the baby much until 22-23 weeks. I have anterior placenta-I was so mad b/c that is the one thing I was SO excited about, that with your 2nd you feel him/her sooner-not me!
But just mention it to your Dr next visit, but it is still early

Re: 20 weeks and no kicking :(
I wouldn't worry about it. I feel pops and the occasional kick, but I have never felt a flutter. I think it's different for everyone.

I had anterior placenta and at around 20 weeks I couldn't feel the kicks too often. Ask at your next sono!

With my first pregnancy I didn't feel anything until 23 weeks and I had an anterior placenta so it blocked me from feeling DD's kicks.

My friend has this and just recently started feeling big kicks and she's 23 weeks.
