2008- Holiday village pictures thread.
I finished I love my village this year.
Maybe everyone can post pictures of thier villages as they finish them and we can all "ohh" and "ahh" and most importantly... Idea Share. Be sure to tell what village you have.
I'll start. I have the Department 56 Dicken's village (mixed in are some pieces from the Dicken's Christmas Carol village)
This was my first time trying water!

you have a beautiful set!! 3 years ago I went totally nuts and bought lots of houses on ebay......I only set them up that year I guess I can blame it on the renovations we've been doing for the past few years, I don't have the energy or the room for all those villages right now! maybe you've persauded me to take a few out of their boxes this year!

Ohh you should. I LOVE villages!
It took a few hours to do but, It wasn't that bad. My back is a little sore from leaning over though. It helped to have Dh nearby in case he needed to lift a house or something!

I put a curvy line of blue tissue paper down. I used straight pins to make it lay down flat. Then I covered it in see through irradescent paper. I left this a little bubbly looking. I then took cotton snow and stretched it all and stuck it along the edges of the river. Last, I sprinkled loose snow all over.
The most important thing is making the water was the little round container of tack stuff that is made for the villages.
