2012-2013 Openings
Let's keep a running post of job openings we know of for those searching.

My new small school in Queens will be hiring probably (one of each). We will probably need elective teachers too (just haven't definitely heard yet probably art/music and a language)
Math
English
Social Studies
Science - Chemistry
The school is project based.
Next year we will have 9 - 11.
100 students each grade
You will teach 4 classes plus have a small advisory.
Since we are a new school we can hire outside of NYC.

At least one member of my SS dept will be excessed due to budget cuts, possibly two.

Where in queens is the school? Is it part of the NYC dept of education? Is this a charter school?

It is part of the DOE, not a charter school. It is a small school. FM me for more info.

Bethpage is looking for a secondary ELA, Italian, and 2 Spanish teachers (dual certification is highly suggested).

Yes! The ones that I listed were just the ones off the top of my head! We're a really "young" staff so a lot of women are having babies and going out on leaves. This year alone, so far we've had 4 babies born at the HS alone! I know that two of my friends want to get pregnant this year and hopefully be out sometime next year...Bethpage teachers are baby making machines!!! 
Heck, I just got married this past summer and would like to get pregnant within the next couple years!!

Dont know if there will be openings in mine. They cut 26 teachers, that is including retirees

My school said that they are opening 5-7 new classes this year. I teach in a D75 school in the south Bronx. The area is not the greatest, but it is an A school. K-5 students with autism, 6:1:1 and 8:1:1.

I have special ed openings in my elementary school. Only thing is it is a NYC public school in Brooklyn...
