When was DC completely on table food?
DD is still mostly baby food (she'll be 10 months next week.) She likes it and honestly it's easier for me since she has dinner before us. I do give her some here and there and she does well with it. Should I be pushing more table food?

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
I know that Im a bit of an extremer but my kids were pretty much on table food from about 7 months or so...I always made my own babyfood so once they were dont "testing" out all the foods I just gave them what we were having but in a form that they could pretty much handle..

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
so when do you start giving table food, and do they need to have teeth. My DD is 8 months today and has no teeth. I have been wondering this??
Sorry to jump the thread

They don't need teeth to eat solids...they mash everything with their gums. Just be sure to give very small peices.
Molly has been on table food since about 10 months. She really like baby cereal, so I still give her that for breakfast along with diced fruits or something. But for the most part, she is a machine! Loves pasta!

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
I still give fruit jars, it is easier and I leave jars at daycare for additional food besides what I bring, but at home, it is all table foods, I am running out of ideas though and never know if I am giving the right nutrition...jars were very easy !
eta: DD is 1 year old.

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
At 11.5 months DD is almost on all table food. She could be on all table food but once in a while I throw a jar of something in the mix. She enjoys the baby food fruits & desserts.

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
DD is 11 months and we've been giving table food gradually since about 9 months. We still give jarred food though, sometimes I give her a jarred veggie and usually jarred fruit before we let her pick at some table food. For me its been hard to keep coming up with stuff that they can eat every lunch and dinner at this age and still make sure they're getting everything they need nutritionally. So we mix it up.
She vastly prefers table food to the jarred stuff though so whenever we can we give her the "real stuff"

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
Good thread Jodi!
I just gave Leah waffles for the 1st time this morning for breakfast. She did pretty well with it. I gave her 4 mini-waffles and 1/2 jar of fruit.
I REALLY want to get her onto more table food, but I have the worst eating habits, so I don't want to pass that along
I need IDEAS for good foods!

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
Lily's still mostly on baby food too. I find it so much easier and I don't worry about her getting the right stuff. I know she's getting her fruit & veggies. I'm also afraid of pooping problems like we had with cereal early on. But I am gradually introducing stuff. We have a playgroup of babies all around her age and she's the only one eating baby food. I know I need to mix it up and let her expand her horizons.

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
I will still occasionally give a veggie baby food if I don't have a veggie made for him. But I would say he's been primarily on people food since about 9 months.

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
DD is 10 months old today. She has always been on all table food since she has started solids, I make my own food for her and make broths and a baby version of minestrone and freeze it in portions. So simple to take one out and pop it in the microwave.
She has one guilty pleasure and thats the baby jarred vanilla custard. I tried the Jell-o vanilla pudding but I guess its thicker so she noticed the difference. She tries to take it out of her mouth and "look" at it ...but thats a whole other habit she picked-up lately

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
DD is 9.5 months ( a little less) and still mostly on baby food. Whenever I cook if it is something she can eat then I will feed her that (i.e. lentil soup, pasta..) however if it is not something "baby firendly" then I will give her baby food.
Right now, working full time, it is easier for me and for daycare to give her babyfood. When we move next month and I go part time then I will focus more on table foods.
I always let her at least try what we are eating. She has recently discovered the world of baby bell cheese and she loves it!!

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
DC are 1 year and still eat the occasional Stage 3 Jar of food. My doctor said it's the same thing as giving them really fruit/veggies just this is more mashed up. I give them half table food and half stage 3. A lot of times i turn to Gerbert Graduates for Toddlers. THey have a lot of microwaveable stuff that comes in handy since I come home so close to their dinner time and they eat earlier then DH and I.

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
DD is 11 months and mostly on table food. I still give her the occasional fruits or veggies if I can't come up with any other ideas. She usually has about 1 jar (maybe 2) a day of baby fod. Sometimes not any... depends on the day.
She only has 2 teeth just popping through and she eats applesauce, yogart, pasta, mac and cheese, meatballs, sliced turkey and chicken, noodle soup, heads of broccoli, mashed sweet potatos, pieces of chicken nuggets....

Re: When was DC completely on table food?
I'd say she was 100% table food at around 14-15 months. At that age she refused we feed her anymore totally.
