21 weeks-back pain?
Hi Ladies-quick question! I'm experiencing some stabbing pains in my mid to lower back on my right side. Is this normal? I didn't sleep very well last night as my hips were kind of bothering me so I'm guessing maybe I'm stretching? The pain is quick and comes and goes. I am currently sitting at my desk at work and it started shortly after I came to work....thoughts?
Thanks!! Happy New Year!!

Re: 21 weeks-back pain?
I definitely had back pain around 19-21 weeks. It seemed pretty common from what I read online and never was so bad I felt like I needed to call the doctor. I used icepacks mostly (sometimes heat but not for more than 20 minutes at a time) and usually felt better when lying down. Have you tried keeping your feet up at work? I just use a storage box but it helps take the pressure off. Good luck!

It's very common to have pain in both of those areas throughout your pregnancy. It's sounds like it's your SI joint misaligning which is part of your pelvis.
It's very important that your pelvis isn't misaligned during pregnancy and for delivery. You want to make sure your baby has as much room to turn into position and it helps give you a quicker delivery. If you need help finding a chiropractor feel free to FM me. I know many and I also practice in East Islip.
It's not recommended to put heat on your lower back when pregnant. I wouldn't follow that advice. GL!!

21 weeks-back pain?
Thanks so much for your responses! The back pain seems to have subsided and now its just hip pain after sleeping on the same side for too long....so I just shift every couple hours. It is just more uncomfortable than painful.
