My Birth Story

well, on Tuesday April 8th all I wanted to do was get my haircut. So I started doing errands around 10am and I got my haircut around 12pm. It felt so nice. When I got home I took all my heavy sweaters and packed them away. I put on cleaning clothes and mopped the kitchen floor, bathroom floor, and polished the wood floors. When I let my dogs in the got paw prints on the rug. So I got on my hands and knees and started cleaning their paw prints and suddenly got a gush. Went to the bathroom thinking I wet myself. Changed and suddenly got another gush. Called the doctor and they told me to come on over. Now I was at the doctor the day before and nothing was going on. So I get to the doctor to find out my water is breaking and my son had a bowel movement during this time. They send me to the hospital because I had the strep b and needed to be put on antibiotics. Well, I get to the hospital they induce the labor because of Strep b and the contractions were painful. My sons heartbeat started decreasing because he had a short umbilical cord and as he pulled on the cord he was then also pulling on the placenta which was cutting off oxygen. So off to an emergency c-section and the horrible patient I am they cut me open and I started to feel all the pulling and all I wanted was to see my son so I tried to stand up on the operating table and they had to knock me out to finish the procedure. Colin was born at 8:45 that night. So this was my birth story. I have learned that for the next child I will plan my c-section because I do not do well with emergency's. For all those giving birth at SOuth Nassau I must say that all the nurses there are awesome.
