First of three appointments to my prosthetic (pics included)
I have had the worst self esteem for about the last year because of the way my eye has been. It got even worse when I got the eye completly removed.
Today I had the first of three appointments for my prosethetic eye and I am already feeling 10 times better. My self confidence is starting to come back already and I feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
Ok, I don't take a lot of close up pictures, I usually take pictures from my other side or with sunglasses on.
So, here is a before picture (yuuuucky!)
Here is today's (keep in mind this is step one of three):
For the first preliminary step to my prosethtic doesn't it look good?

First of all, I had to read the title a few times...I thought you wanted us to step on you and I was  about what on earth that meant.
Secondly, wow!!!!! This is a huge step and I am sooooo happy for you!!!!!
And now I have questions. I hope I don't come across as ignorant, I am just curious.
Is it a *real* eye like someone donated it? Or is it glass?
Is it in permanently or can you take it out? (I had a great aunt who could take hers out  )
Again, I wish you all the best with this and I love hearing about your positive updates!!!

This is a plastic one, it's like a huge contact that goes over the entire opening and it's hand painted to look the way it does.
I wasn't eligible for a donated eye (nad I probably never will be)as there are parts of your body you need as your own but mine were killed off by the radiation. My only hope of looking normal is to have a fake one like this.

It totally looks great! Doesn't look plastic
or fake at all.

Wow!!! It looks great!!!!
Ive known this woman for almost 3 years now. She is the mother of one of my girls. We arent close friends or anything but I have been in her company on almost a weekly bases. I just found out that she has a prostetic eye..I never knew or suspected. I dont know how she lost the eye but she mentioned it at a recent GTG where she asked us to guess which eye was her prostetic one...noone knew...

Deb for the first appointment it looks AMAZING!!! WOW they did a great job!!! Can't wait to see how FANTASTIC it will look by the time you get to the 3rd appointment
