2nd Birthday Party help...
So I wanna throw Bella's 2nd birthday party...we did only a small restaurant party with immediate family because she was only 1 and didn't really know any better.
Now, I see her having friends and she is getting invites to parties more and more...so I am gonna book one...
I called Orly's Treehouse in Westbury and they have the date I want available...anybody have thoughts on this place? I am going to check it out tomorrow...
Also,
Five Star Gymnastics in East Rocakway
Giggles and Grins in Franklin Square
The Little Gym in Merrick
Party Palooza in Merrick...
any other thoughts or suggestions would be great. Trying to do this the beginning of September.
I would say 75 percent of the kids are 2, I have like 4 4 years olds, and a couple 1 and under.
I so appreciate any guidance

PS...we just went to a party at ONCE UPON A TREETOP in Plainview and I have to say AWESOME< AWESOME< AWESOME...really well thought out and clean place...so much for them to do.
if it wasn't a little far for my guests, I would totally try that (although they are booked up the wazoo now)

Re: 2nd Birthday Party help...
The only thing I've heard about Orly's besides what a GREAT idea a spa/kid gym place is, is that it's pretty pricey.
For Maddie's 2nd birthday, we opted for Chuck E. Cheese. I know it sounds lame but she loved it there.
Little Gym has a great reputation. The others I'm not familar with.
I love parties that tire out kids. Gyms are perfect for that age group.

Chuck e cheese is awesome...does Nassau even have one? Yeah, I noticed Orly's seemed a little expensive, and I haven't even got a real quote yet...I just know they have my date and it's soon, so I got excited. I'll check little gym out for sure, it seemed like great fun.

Hicksville & Hempstead -> you can check availability for parties & even book your party online.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party help...
Orly's starts @ $425 for the "basic" party. They really do a great job there. IMO, 2 is too young, unless it's just gymnastics.
Little Gym in Merrick is adorable. We went to a party there in May (4 year old) and the kids had fun. Again, I think 2 years is too young.
I'm having my son's 2nd at Wood Kingdom. It's inexpensive (compared to Orlys, Pump it Up and OUAT - which are the "hot" party venues) and I think it's totally age appropriate for him. I had my 1st son's 2nd birthday at Tots on Track (a "mommy and me" type party) and it went well.
White Post Farms also does a great party (I had my son's 3rd there).
We've been just about everywhere.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party help...
I had my son's 2nd at My Gym, which I heard was great (I missed it because I was hospitalized ). You don't have to be a member to have it there, but I am assuming it might be too far??
I went to a b-day party at the Little Gym in Merrick (we used to go there too!). It was fun, I don't think 2 is too young.
Last Saturday, I was at my parents house and I could hear all this commotion and music through the trees and over the RR tracks. My mom said it was the party at the 5-Star Gymnastics place. Sounded like a blast, but never have been there.
Other places we've been to for parties are Wood Kingdom and White Post Farms.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party help...
Thanks everyone and keep the suggestions/experiences coming. I am calling a ton of places. Little Gym in Merrick is actually closed because of the street fair the weekend I wanna do it, so that's out. Orly's seems expensive, but Pump It Up was only like 20 bucks cheaper and it's all the way in Plainview.
I was at Matts in Syosset, but it is a drive for me. Thinking Western Nassau closer to mid-south shore...

Re: 2nd Birthday Party help...
Having a 5 year old, we've been EVERYWHERE between parties I've booked for him and parties we've been invited to. Let's see if I can help you:
*Orly's- cute but WAY overpriced. Also, I don't like how they shuffle kids in and out of rooms. Way too overstimulating for little ones IMHO.
*Giggles and Grins- cute place. Has slides, chutes, arts & crafts, jungle gym...cute for little ones. Parking can be difficult (right on Hempstead Tpke).
*Little Gym - very cute. Good for the ages you are having. They have tumble mats, zip chord, tunnels, small slides, all padded, very clean. Also a sing along and guided dances...very cute.
* Party Palooza- had my son's 4th bday there- ADORABLE! I did the "Stuff A Pet" party (it's an additional cost per child but awesome). I also included the puppet show. Place is so cute, the girls there are great. They also give you a CD of the whole videotaped party!!! One less thing to worry about. Plus they give a little something to each kid at the end of the party. Very very cute place...sing/ dance alongs, bubble machine, disco ball. You might want to wait and do this place for her 3rd bday though...to take full advantage of the Stuff A Pet.
We are going to Pump It Up in a few weeks (all inflatables). Seems adorable.
Had my son's 5th bday at The Children's Safari in Valley Stream. the place is absolutely beautiful, but so not worth the $$.
Any other places, please feel free to FM me...I'm sure I know of more.

We had Joseph's 3rd Birthday at Wood Kingdom. They did a great job, inexpensive (at least 2 years ago it was). What's great is the kids run around & the parents can talk. They dont have to follow their child everywhere.

Re: 2nd Birthday Party help...
You should def. try My Gym, if there is one in the area you are looking. I am a member of one and it is so clean and nice. My friend had a party there before I had Steven and I remember it being so nice and well planned for the kids and they have activities for ALL age groups!

don't apologize seriously, all of these great ideas that everyone has given me...I have at least a long list now.
Any you know what, if I walk into Orly's and like it enough I may still book it $$$$ or not. I mean, it's all done for me and I am not one with time to be running around checking a million places...this is in 5 weeks! Also, it is centrally located for all my peeps. We were super small last year...so maybe I'll go big this year. I never had b-day parties when I was small because there were so many of us....and that was when roller rinks were in

Re: 2nd Birthday Party help...
We went to a 1st b-day at Kids, Inc. (516) 742-1441 on Hillside Ave in Williston Park a few years ago and it was really cute. They had an arcade room open to the kids (and adults, who I think enjoyed it more) then they took the kids into another room to do an art project (painting a choice of a ceramic piece) then back to the arcade where the hosts had pizza brought in from the place across the street. It was cute (not appropriate for 1 yr olds IMO) but definitely entertaining for both the kids and adults. My DH thinks it may be still too young for a 2 yr old, but worth checking out. I know they had a few rooms going so there may have been different activities available. HTH
