3 years old...what size bike?
DD is 3 and tall....39". We want to get her a bike for Christmas and I was wondering what size. I went to TRU today and the 12" looks small like she would outgrow it fast but the 16" looks a little big. They have a 14" but only is Disney fairies and she really wants hello kitty which only comes in 12" or 16" so if you have a tall 3 year old or a 4 year old with a bike what size is it? DH seems to think we should go with the 16". TIA

16" for my 4 year old. I'm not sure how tall he is.

I would get the 16" so she can grow with it. DS is 2 and we got him the 12" and it doesn't look THAT big for him when he is sitting on it (34"). Hth!

Re: 3 years old...what size bike?
DS will be 3 in a few weeks and it over 40" tall.
They had a 16 inch on display at Costco the other day so I plopped him on it. It fit perfectly with some room to grow!
I think go with the 16, if she is tall by next christmas you are just going to have to upgrade if you go with the 14.

Re: 3 years old...what size bike?
We got DS him a "compact" 16" for his 3rd birthday. The frame is a bit shorter than a regular 16". DS is tall but has short legs. The 12" would have been too small by next year.
I suggest you go to the big bike store in Wantagh. They have a good selection of bikes. They are brands and most of the bikes can have replacement parts if anything happens. Most "cheaper" bikes cannot be fixed if anything breaks. But go there just to try the bikes with DC.
