Gift for teachers when graduating to the next level
So, Benji will be going to the older room in his day care center.
He starts there next Tuesday.
I would love to get something for the two teachers he had in his old room but I am completely at a loss as to what to give.
These two women had kept me sane for almost a year he has been in this center. I would love it to be something special. They are both in their late 50s and knowing them I know they would not want anything frilly like manicure GC etc.
Anyone has any ideas what would like to share what they gave to their kid's teachers when graduating?

As a teacher, gift cards are probably the best gift....most of us appreciate the thought...I know I got a gift card to Dunkin Donuts and was thrilled to get my free coffee!!!

I second the gift card idea. However, maybe make it somewhere more generic than a Dunkin Donuts (unless you *know* they frequent there!) - I have gotten DD and Starbucks cards - and ALWAYS appreciate them! - but I don't drink coffee and therefore don't frequent those places. Maybe somewhere like Macy's or just a Simon Mall gift card?

Whatever you do, I would write your thoughts down in a card. You seem to really grateful and above all, they would love to hear that.
You could get them an engraved christmas ornament ( i know its early ) but its something that would make them smile every year when they looked at their tree.
I think this is really beautiful ... its only 19.95 and you can get it engraved ... this site has some cute ideas
personalized gifts
Also check out their frames ... they are adorable!

I have bought many borders and starbucks g/c that they liked, but this year I bought one from an Italian deli/restaurant that they would have to pass on their way home(very close to our school). I figured they could pick up dinner when they drove home and they all LOVED it!!!

Re: Gift for teachers when graduating to the next level
I gave each teacher a pic of the boys from the beginning of the year and another at the end of the year to show how much they grew. I expressed my gratitude in that card and usually gave a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolate. We always did a 'class gift' in addition - all the graduating mother's chipped in for a 'bigger' gift.
When they actually graduated school, I gave the flowers, the card with the pics and a gift card. I also gave NoNo's teachers handcuff's too - it was kind of an 'inside' joke.

Thank you ladies, for all your ideas!
I think I will do GC, probably to Macys or Sears as both are close by in the neighborhood.
I am definitely signing the cards as well just to express how grateful I am!

That's perfect. I am also a teacher & love getting gc's as gifts but it also means so much to get a handwritten card with nice sentiments.
