3.46 tsh- too high
Just got the call with my CD3 results (they are still waiting on 2 tests) and everything came back good except my TSH came back as a 3.46 and he said it SHOULD be under 2.5 in someone TTC. He is calling me in a low dose of synthroid.
Is it possible this is my problem? Causing me not to ovulate/get a period? Would this problem just come out of nowhere? (over the last 4 years?)
Any symptoms associated with synthroid?
Would love to hear any and all feedback!!!

ABSOLUTELY!!!! Thyroid disorders cause implantation failure, miscarriage, not to ovulate, etc... You might find that you lose a little weight and that you feel better overall.

Then it might actually help you in gaining weight - they thyroid controls so much of your body, you'd be shocked!

I guess a 3.46 isn't generally considered high but is when TTC!
Id love for this to be the only problem!

Re: 3.46 tsh- too high
My numbers were similar. We tried for 3 years and after several iuis and 2 ivfs we conceived my DD. My tsh was within range. Then when pregnant it went very high quickly and came down on its own by the time my ob referred me to an endocrinologist. Then fast forward to this summer... we decided to go for #2. My tsh was similar - within normal range but a bit high for ttc - so i was put on synthroid. I was really hoping it was my magic ticket but unfortunatley it was not. Getting the correct dose required some tweaking. I hope it helps you on your journey!

Re: 3.46 tsh- too high
Its very interesting, about a year ago I had gone to the Dr for extreme fatigue, joint pain/weakness, and (TMI) constipation issues.... My PCP swore it was my thyroid, ran tests and all came back normal; at the time they sent me to a Rheumatologist- who ran their own tests (years ago I had been DX with arthrisitis, but at the time I was overweight- lost it all and then some and never had a flare up again). I was monitored for awhile- but all tests came back fine- so I stopped going and just "dealt" with everything- because although it wasn't ideal- it wasn't stopping me from doing anything everyday either!
RE says that being on birth control can alter the results- so maybe this was those issues the entire time....
At the very least if the synthroid helps those issues, Ill be happy..... Ill be THRILLED though if this was the reason, Im not ovulating/getting a normal period and could go on to get preggo on my own!

Re: 3.46 tsh- too high
Yes! They want you below 2.5 to TTC.When you are not TTC the normal parameters are much higher.
Mine was 3.2. I started synthroid at 25 mcg and had my first IUI the next month and got pregnant after trying for 18 months. My thyroid condition manifested itself during the pregnancy and now 2 yrs post partum I am on 75 mcg daily but my level is 1.7!!
Good luck!!
ETA: I now see a regular endocrinologist every 6 months to check my levels, etc.
Also, no symptons from synthroid. It is just a synthetic hormone that your body already makes (not really a medication) so there are no symptoms.

I didn't have symptoms from the meds but being on the correct dose is very important. When my dose was too high - 50mcg, I was very restless and had difficulty sleeping. My endo said it most likely was related b/c when my dose was lowered my sleep was better within a few days or a week. I also have autoimmune issues since college and also see a rheumotolgist. Many of these things overlap.
