For those who have had multiple m/c's

I have an appointment this afternoon for a consult with Dr. Stelling. I'm not really sure why though.....they say that after your 2nd m/c you have to have a consult... I guess to go over WHY this is happening - I dont know.
I know they said that they wanted to do all this additional blood work on me to determine potential clotting issues etc.....but I'm a little nervous. Does anyone know what to expect? I'm a little scared to hear what they have to say...know what I mean?

Don't be afraid for what they have to say. I have had all the testing and believe me, there was a lot of tests. They want to rule everything out. At least if they find something off, you may be able to resolve it. Good luck to you!

Praying everything works out ok.
Only thing i can offer is to bring a notebook with u and write down anything he says. Also write down any questions you have beforehand in case you forget.
Good luck

Re: For those who have had multiple m/c's

I had them do the recurrent mc panel after my 2nd mc....it was pretty simple- they just draw about 7 vials of blood. I think they were looking for a clotting issue. It all came back negative. I guess it's good to know what they can at least rule out before you get pregnant again.

For me, I don't feel any better because it turns out I was pregnant again when they ran the tests, and that one didn't stick, either, so it def. doesn't tell you everything....

It's a step in the right direction, though, so I am glad we did it. I am sorry you are going through this.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

After my second chemical pregnancy, I had a full work up for repeat losses through my RE. DH and I went for genetic testing and I was tested for immune disorders and blood clotting disorders. Best of luck and Chat Icon

I had blood work done too after my 2nd miscarriage. They wanted to make sure me and DH were a "match" so to speak.
