Worst week of parenthood ever...Abby's seizure UPDATE #2...
Kate came down with the stomach virus Friday night and has been vomiting on and off since then.
Abby seemed a little "off" upon waking, but nothing out of the ordinary. Never threw up, etc...
About 30 minutes ago, she started convulsing...lips turning blue, eyes rolling back in her head. OMG, girls, I was/am so freaked out. She has no history of this. I called 911 immediately and they told me what to do. Color returned to her lips and she stopped seizing, but turned completely limp--like a rag doll. I could not rouse her. Meanwhile DH was out!! He returned as EMS pulled up. She was so limp, we couldn't even get her coat on.
They think she may be dehydrated and started her on oxygen and an IV--they just rode away now to the hospital as Kate said, "I miss my sister."
As if the miscarriage weren't bad enough. I think I've earned my stripes this week. Will update...
UPDATE: Well, Abby was admitted to the hospital and at this point, won't be out until Tuesday at the earliest.
She had a CAT scan, which was normal; blood was normal; she had no fever.
They will be performing a spinal tap on her at some point tonight--I am hoping this is not as scary as it sounds. We won't get the results from this for 24 hours. She will be quarantined until then and treated as though she has an infection until proven otherwise, although no signs really point to that. We actually hope for "bad" news from this as if she does have an infection, it can be treated with antibiotics; otherwise, we still don't know what the problem is.
Tomorrow morning she will have an MRI and an EEG. I visited with her tonight and she was happy to see me, although she was exhausted and annoyed at being examined twice! My DH is staying with her tonight and I feel so bad for him too because he's only got a chair--and it doesn't even recline!

First of all, I must thank each and every one of you for your prayers and hugs. I am touched beyond words...
So...
We haven't gotten any results from anything really yet, except meningitis was ruled out via the spinal tap--full results from cultures on the way tomorrow. Oh, and the other good news...my DH finally got a recliner for tonight!
The MRI was *supposed* to be today, but evidently I gave birth to a superhuman... She was given two doses of sedative this morning before the procedure--this kid just wouldn't sedate! So, we rescheduled it for the afternoon, gave her an oral sedative first, then went down to MRI where she got a further 2 shots of IV sedative--the kid was STILL freakin' awake!
This whole thing was VERY upsetting because it was like she was all doped up yet fighting sleep crying out "MaaaaaaMaaaaaaa...." You can imagine what I mean, I'm sure. At this point they think general anesthesia may be necessary, but I'm getting a 2nd opinion on that one.
She did have the EEG and we'll get the results of that tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Abby is SO miserable. She's got all sorts of tubes and IVs and a hospital gown and she's constantly bucking and getting all tangled and wailing and wanting to go home. She looks so filthy and I can't wait to bring her home and clean her up.
Oh, yeah, and my "bad news" confirmation sonogram is tomorrow afternoon. Geez...God had a funny way of taking my mind off the miscarriage.

lots of prayers for her...
the same thing happened to me when I was 2.... turned out that I had a bad reaction to the MMR vaccine. the gave me an EEG and then sent me home... I was fine...
I hope you are pleasantly surprised by an awake and happy child when you walk into the ER

OMG!!! I am in tears here!!!! How terrifying!!!!!!!! I hope she is ok and I will keep you guys in my prayers!!! Please take it easy, I cant imagine how upset you must be right now. Please keep us updated!
