4 hr car ride 6 days into potty training

We will be 6 days into potty training and are going on a 4 hour car ride. So far he is doing great, only 1 accident a day, but he doesn't tell me he has to go, just waits til I put him on the potty. Would you recommend a pull-up (the only other time he wears these is at night, to bed) or putting something under him in car seat to minimize wetness and stopping a lot.

I have no idea since we are waiting to come back from Spain to potty train...lol....but - if you have AAA you can get TripTix -- it is a map of your whole trip and shows you every single rest stop or exits with facilities along the way.

We have this travel potty and it's great. I'd make stops along the way and set this up for DC.

Re: 4 hr car ride 6 days into potty training

My suggestion is to take a potty and leave it in the trunk if you can and also buy something absorbent and disposable to put in the carseat. We did it last summer when we trained her, we just had to stop a lot more. It was no biggie and having the potty in the trunk meant we could just put her on it right there and not have to go into each rest stop. We did line the potty with plastic bags, so we could just chuck them, but at one point, we had extra diapers and I put that in the potty and let her pee on it and it worked even betterChat Icon
