I woul dbegin to introduce rice ceral at night before the bottle. He may need something more than formula to tide him over.

Re: 4 Months Old and Waking at 3:30 - 4:00 am!!

i have been going through this for the last 5 weeks or so.. he was waking up at one point 4-5x per night. sometimes crying for a while, other times to take the paci. Now, the past few nights he has woken 1x for the paci (takes 2 seconds)

I have upped his pacifiers in his crib to 4 in hopes he will find it himself.

I think slowly it goes away..

i am hoping in 2 weeks he will sleep through again!

I posted something similar last week. DS started waking up multiple times per night. He is a few days shy of 4 months. I hope it gets better soon!

DD seems to be going through this as well

For the last five nights, she's woken up at 3:30 or 4 am with a poopy diaper and needing a bottle.

Last night was back to normal though- bed 7:30 pm- 6 am straight through.

I think her teething is playing a part too though

PS- JMOi really dont agree with giving the bottle at 4am if you werent giving it in the past.

I do not give the bottle, i dont want him to get used to having it again..

I don't think there is much you can do..... Give it a few few weeks. Alexa got so bad that she wasn't sleeping AT ALL at night so around 18-19 weeks we ended up starting modified, VERY MODIFIED, sleep training

I try not to give him the bottle at this time but there is no getting him back down unless I feed him.

Re: 4 Months Old and Waking at 3:30 - 4:00 am!!

Well DS has been waking twice a week for almost four weeks, he is now back to waking once at night and then up for the day between 5 and 6. We give cereal before bed and I breastfed him right before bed as well, it didn't matter how much I fed him, he would still wake up, but at least now it looks like he wakes only once at 2:30 (use to be 4).

what time does he go down to bed? Maybe try *waking* him before you go to bed.

My DD is almost 4 months and doesn't sleep through the night yet. We still get up 2x a night for a feeding.

i think 4 months was about right for when ds started with his waking up in the middle of the night again... it lasted about two weeks and then it was back to normal... i have found that he is up more when he either learns something new or when he is nolonger going to fit in his clothes next week.....

about 9 pm

Maybe give him a small bottle around 8 PM to hold him until say 11:30/12:00 then give him a full bottleChat Icon

It doesn't really matter because once you figure it out, he'll changeChat Icon

I found DS was up more in the middle of the night when it was time to increase his food/bottles.

Not yet. His 4 month visit is next week. Thanks for all the responses. Its just rough when a 4 month old is up at 4 am and a 2 year old is up at 6
