4 oz every 2 hrs...

I am going nuts!!!!!!Chat Icon He gets hungry after 2 hrs!!! I just started giving him 4oz last week from 3. Should I give him more?

I am afraid he will get sick or become to heavy at this rate.

ETA: He's a month old.

Have you tried a pacifier? He may just want to $uck. My ped suggested a small amount of water if she got fussy in between feedings but every doctor is different. You should call the doctor before upping to more oz.

You could try 5 oz every 3 hrs. We were giving Katie that for a few days and then she went back to her 4oz every 3 hrs.

My DS does this and it is very frustrating but he is 2.5 months old. The only way I can get him to go longer is if he naps. Thank god he sleeps through the night because if he wakes up it throws off how much formula I can give him. He will eat anywhere between 3 & 5 oz every 2 -3 hours.

I think you should give him as much as he wants.

If you don't limit his feeding, he probably won't need to eat as often.

Our ped said give her as much as she wants.

I know that all babies are different, but is there a standard chart on how many ounces a baby should be eating, and when the ounces should increase?

I would say from personal experience that just let him have as much as he wants. My son was 9 5 when he was born. He was always off the chart on weight and height. Then 6 months came around and now he is just off the chart on height. Tiny little string bean. It doesn't last. He is 2 wearing 3T and the pants fall off him but they are right for his height but not weight.
