40 day cycles

i am troubled by my very long cycles. came off BC in june. last month my smiley didnt come til CD 29 and I got AF on CD40, which became CD 1. Today is CD 27 of cycle 2 and absolutely no sign of a smiley, so it looks like i am headed for another 40 day cycle at least. whats the deal?

will i conceive this way? i feel so confused here.

You can conceive with longer cycles but egg quality can become poorer later in the cycle. Its not always like that, but sometimes is it. Are you regularly 40 days on the dot? If not, and you have long cycles that vary, you may want to talk to your doctor cause it could be a sign of PCOS which is very treatable (especially if you already O on your own).

Crashing here. I have very long 40 - 45 day cycles that are slightly irregular. I was always told by Dr.s it may be difficult for me to conceive or take a long time. My first was a surprise, the first time ever we were not 100% careful. My second DD was conceived on the first try. Don't focus on the negatives, just relax, think positive and let it happen.

ETA: I do not have PCOS or thyroid issues.
