The room is only 8x10 but we have crown moulding, chair rail, and moulding on the bottom of the walls and moudling around the windows. Plus there was wallpaper on the walls and we took it off so now he has to wash them.
This also includes touch ups through out the rest of the house.

Any help please!!!!!!Chat Icon

I don't think it is. I've been getting estimates for 2 weeks to paint two rooms and a hallway in my home. They are all around 1600. I know one painter told us that the more cutting in (molding, chair rail, etc) the higher the estimate

Chat Icon I'll do it for $50! No, but seriously if you and your DH can't do it yourselves, can you get family to help you guys wash the walls and paint? I wouldn't spend that kind of money for someone to paint a room. JMO though.

If he has to steam / wash wallpaper glue off the walls and there is that much moulding, then I don't think the estimate was that bad, especially if it includes touchups for the rest of the house.

If you want another estimate, I have a very good, very reasonable painter. I can't guarantee he'd be lower than that, though.

That's a good price.
