any recommendations for restaurants near penn station...for the life of me i cant think of anything thats over there!

if you're looking for casual, Brother Jimmys is on 31/8ave
there's also the Stage Door Deli/restaurant on 33/8ave if you want a quick bite

There's a pile of bar/restaurants around there:
Stout 133 W 33rd Street
Tir Na Gog 5 Penn Plaza
Mustang Sallys 324 7th Ave
Mustang Harrys 352 7th ave
If you dont mind going up 33rd Street
Legends - 10 W 33rd
Jack Dempseys - 36 W 33rd Street
There's also this place called
FATS right next to Stout. They have bar type food but also southern style food (chicken fried staek, po boys, etc)
Nick & Stefs in the Garden - near 8th Aveue is a nice steak place
