47 days past D&C - no AF - normal? UPDATED now at 68 days no period.

Asking for a friend.

Baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. At 8-9 weeks she did two rounds of a pill (cyotec) to help pass it and it didn't work. She waited to miscarry on her own but didn't and had the D&C at 12 weeks.

It's been 47 days and no period. She is pretty sure she ovulated 3 weeks ago. She had bloodwork done and it was negative for hcg. Where is this darn AF?!?

Update

Now it's been 68 days and is cramping and spotting but that's it. She does get light periods before the miscarriage but this is nothing now.

She did still have some pregnancy hormones about 35 days ago she got positive tests. That's when she went to the dr and had bloodwork done and hcg was at zero. So her levels took a long time to come down.

She thinks she ovulated again 18 days ago.

Has she had any bleeding since she O'ed? I only ask because my first AF after my D&C was SUPER light and only lasted like two days. The only reason why I know it was AF is because I was tracking my cycles and it happened exactly two weeks after ovulation. Otherwise I would have thought it was random spotting it was so light. My dr said AF could take up to 6 or more weeks to return and to call if I have not gotten it 8 weeks past D&C. Perhaps if it doesn't come in the next week or two she should follow up with her dr.

She should call her dr. After my D&C I didn't get my period for 5 weeks and they put me on progesterone to induce a period. That still didn't work and I needed a saline sonogram to see what was going on. Turns out the D&C caused major scarring which stopped me for getting my period and I ended up needing a 3 hour surgery to remove it.
