My birth story! Please welcome G!!
Sorry this took so long! I have had family here all week from NY.
I had my weekly dr’s appt on May 1st, and once again made very very very little progress. At 39w3d’s Dr to let me know that it is up to me if I would like to be induced. My induction date was set for May 2nd at 6:30 am, but G had other plans!
After my dr’s appt I started feeling AF like cramps, and they become progressively more intense as the day went on. I started timing the cramps/contractions and they went from 10-20 minutes to every 8, then 7 then 6 minutes apart. By 2am Tuesday, May 2nd I had enough!! Called my doc and went to the hospital to be checked and monitored.
Well I went into my labor on my own, labored til 4cm without drugs. The pain was so intense, and the hospital wouldn’t let me stand to work through the contractions, and being in bed made them 50X worse!
So why be the hero? I got my epi at 8am, OMG such a godsend!! I was fully dilated and ready to push at 4pm. I pushed for 2 and ½ HOURS!! I was swollen, tired, aching and I just wanted to see my little girl.
Since I was pushing so long, my peri area started to swell making it harder for me to push her head out of my pelvis to make her head crown. Having NO SLEEP, since Sunday night, I opted for help, and my baby girl was delivered by forceps at 6:03pm, Tuesday, May 2nd weighing 7lbs 2ozs and 19 ½ inches long.
