Dear Crazy Chick in my Office,

Knee-high Uggs, a long sweater jacket and corduroy pants are not spring attire. Last time I checked, it was May, not January.

Signed,
Your office mate

Dear XXXXX,

I know you don't think what you did was wrong. I know that you think I wanted to be shoved against a wall and violated.

I know the whole town thinks you are a hero because your father died and you took care of your little brother. I know YOU think you are a hero because you joined the army and wear a uniform now.

And I know that forgiving you is something I should do for my own sanity, but even almost 18 years later, what you did to me is still F***ing up my life.

I will hate you forever for that and I will never forgive you.

Signed,

Hope you get what's coming to you

Re: Letter I Wish I Could Send...Feel Free To Include Yours

Dear Mom and Dad,

I honestly can't complain too much about my childhood. I was a lucky child in most ways: loving parents, a comfortable life, nice vacations, my education and wedding fully paid for. There is however, one really important thing that you never gave me - acceptance of my own feelings and opinions. You'll never admit it, because of course anything I think that is different than you is wrong, but you kind of screwed me up emotionally. I am an adult who is afraid to tell anyone what she really thinks in fear that she will get yelled at. I think that my feelings are all wrong b/c I was called "too sensitive" for my whole life. Mom, it took me three years of therapy to understand that your inability to deal with your own feelings made it impossible for you to handle mine. I always have to remind myself that my feelings are okay, and when you tell me, "don't be upset," it's because it makes you uncomfortable to see me cry, not because my feelings are wrong.
Dad, your temper and the way that you yelled at me whenever I disagreed with you has made me into a woman who can't express her opinion to anyone but her husband, who ends bearing the brunt of her frustration with the world, because he's the only one she's comfortable enough with to express her true feelings. Conflict truly makes me sick to my stomach.

I do love you both, and you gave me so much, but I truly hope I can be more accepting of my children than you were of me.

Love,

Your psychologist daughter.

(Is it any wonder that your two children became a counselor and a psychologist, both who work with kids, helping them to express their feelings?)

Re: Letter I Wish I Could Send...Feel Free To Include Yours

Here's mine for the day....

Dear Little Ones,
Remember ALL those rehearsals we had where I told you to WATCH me? Remember? I KNOW you do because it's been like 5 months now. Well, listen, I love you all because you're so darn cute, but I TOLD YOU SO! I told you this would happen if you didn't watch me! So don't be so confused as to why I made you stop singing in the MIDDLE OF A CONCERT because you WEREN'T watching me! I bet you thought I'd never do that, huh? Well, next time I hope you'll watch me.

Signed,
Keeping you on your toes, even when everyone is watching!

Dear Dad,
I wish I could put in words how much you mean to me. I'm so scared that you won't make it onto the transplant list and you will die within a year, like your doctors say you will. You are my rock, my idol, my mentor, and I know that my life will fall to pieces without you here. I'm so sorry that you can't live your golden years in utter happiness and delight. I'm so sorry that you have to give up on the home that you lived in for 30+ years, while dealing with all this crap because mom wants a divorce and wants the money from selling the house RIGHT NOW. I'm so sorry that your son doesn't care enough about you to visit you more than once every 10 years. Please don't give up hope. There's nothing that I want more in this world than for my daughter to grow up knowing what an incredible, honest, kind, gentle man her grandfather was.

Love,
Your Daughter

Re: Letter I Wish I Could Send...Feel Free To Include Yours

Dear Cast&Crew,

Thanks. I love you. When I fucked up, I was waiting to get yelled at, or become an outcast on the last day of my last show. I thought that the burden of having not checked that set was going to follow me for the rest of my life, and I experienced a really really dark hour as I tried to keep calm and take back the second act. But instead of all of that, I was reminded that #1, everyone makes mistakes and #2, it wasn't my responsibility to do it in the first place (however it was mine to check). However, aside from a few loving jabs, when we came back for the 2nd show, it was like it never happenned and you had complete faith in me and embraced me as always. It was an amazing experience, in some way, in unconditional love. No I was not snorting coke... but I did learn not to take DayQuil while calling a show, no matter how sick I am, and to ALWAYS double check, especially when people have a history having to be TOLD to do what is their responsibility. I actually learned a lot through the experience, and the warmth I felt was incredible. Jeff, i'll never forget what you said to me in the control room. EVER. No one has ever said anything like that to me before. You really have been like a dad to me, to all of us, and I'm going to miss you so much. Looking forward to fire island.

Signed,

Thank you for making wedding planning absolutely miserable for me. It wasn't bad enough that I went thru this without my mom...you had to make it worse. Your heart is filled with ice cubes. How could you call my dad's girlfriend by my mother's name THREE times! What's the matter with you? Thank you for second guessing me and everyone else you pyscho b*tch. You make everyone want to keep you off their radar screen. You s_ck!
