I am afraid of spiders which isn't that unsual (I don't think) but not because they are spiders or bugs or have long legs. I am afraid they are going to lay eggs in my ears and then one day millions of baby spiders will be be born and coming pouring out of my ear. I can spot a spider from quite a distance and my ears will instantly become itchy when I see it.

Okay...now I have a new phobia!!

Birds
Being in a tunnel or elevator
Deep water totally freaks me out

Bugs!! UGH!
All kinds of bugs, but a weird one is ladybugs--yes, those cute little harmless spotted bugs that most people like, I HATE HATE HATE it when they land on you and then take that split second when they spread out their wings and hold it before taking off--UGH I can't stand it, now I'm itchy!

Also, killing bugs and then if I DO manage to kill them, scooping them up in a paper towel. I have to get a huge wad of tissues, I just don't want to feel them crunch!!

Looking out the windows at night for fear that someone's face will be there!

Something else that really bugs me is toothpaste wads in the sink... it drives me nuts, and I can't touch them, I have to wash them away!

I hate them. I can't stand them. I don't know what it is, but I totally freak.

I am petrified of rats. It's getting to the point that I am having trouble taking the subway because I am scared that rats will come up on the platform. When I was in grad school, I was in Manhattan waiting for the train. I looked across the platform and noticed a bunch of rats on the platform across the tracks. Since then, my fear of rats has increased.

I am also petrified of walking over the metal grates in the city.

Michael Meyers scares the life of out me. I can't look at anything that has his image.

I can not go to sleep if the closet door is open. I can sit in a room with the closet open, it will literly drive me crazy. I am 31 yrs old and scared of whats going to pop out. Strange, yes. This has bothered me for ever. DH will open it while im sleeping, if I wake up I HAVE to close it. just drives me crazy.

I'm afraid of large knives. I won't use them; I'll ask DH to cut something if it requires use of a large knife.

I am afraid of revolving doors...I NEVER go in them...I am so scared that it might get stuck!

ANYTHING to do w/ eyes. cannot look at someone when their eyes are bloodshot, or have a lazy eye. even stories about contact lenses freak me out.

Petrified of fish. Big, little. Doesn't matter.
Even goldfish. I can't walk through the aquariam section of a pet store.

Sad, but true.

Hmmm...I have a number of common ones, like heights, spiders, etc. but, one strange phobia that I have is tornados. My stomach is in knots when there's a tornado warning.

being alone around trees (day or night)
walking over metal grates
bugs
the down escalator, though I will do it to avoid getting in an elevator w/a large amt of people
bodies of water that I can't see the bottom
driving
diving

Definitely Escalators - up or down. I wouldn't take them for years until I was with a boyfriend and was too embarrassed to say anything. I still pause before going up or down at Penn Station.

Also, I know we don't have many of them in the US, but double-decker buses. I feel like they are going to topple over when they turn the corner. It's only usually a problem in Ireland or the UK, but I can't travel on them and panic when I'm behind one in traffic. I break out in a sweat just thinking about it

I have the normal Spiders, natural weather disasters, etc., but what I would consider a strange phobia would be my weird skeevy fear of a venus fly trap plant. Seriously... DH has one because I thought it would be cute to get him one....until I discovered these things FREAK me out! I will not touch it...so needless to say planting it myself was TOTALLY out of the question.

bats...I think they are going to attack me and get stuck in my hair

crowds - I get very panicky

dogs. I have to get to know each one on a dog-by-dog basis. If they jump or lick, I'm petrified.

fire. I don't light matches, unless they are super-long. I usually use a really long lighter.

I am TERRIFIED of sharks....I cannot go in those things that the tank is all around you and you walk through, I HATE being in water that is over my head, and I am CONSTANTLY on the look out for sharks when I am on a boat or in the water.

I shared this phobia (well maybe not a phobia, more like an OCD thing) with a co-worker the other day and she looked at me like I was on crack..
When paying bills, mainly credit card bills, I will never pay $100 or $200 towards the balance. I always pay the amount that will make the balance an even number. For instance, if my balance is $1,360.56, I will pay $360.56. Yes, I know, I have issues

I also refuse to drive behind trucks with cargo, like logs or those car cargo trucks. I won't drive behind pickup trucks or landscapers, and I won't drive next to a mack truck. I always look at overpasses, too, to see if anyone plans on throwing something over.
