Favor Ideas
I am throwing my DH a surprise 30th party - and am still unsure if I am going to give out favors. Can anyone think of anything cute that I could give out? Something a little different.

Im throwing DH a 30th bday too in July and Im just giving out as favors personalized cigars. The guest list is insane 130 people so I figure 1 cigar each person even if its a woman. I would go crazy then, so 1 at each place setting.

At the party, you can have a select group of people (probably would be best to use people closest to him)...to "Roast" him.......you can buy those little bags of coffee that dunkin donuts sells for like a $1.50, they're really cute...and on it you can afix a label or tag that reads something like, "Thank You for Roasting "John" on his 30th b-day" and the date.

I know what you mean, I feel like Im planning my wedding all over again just with less guest, but getting the hall and the linens and the music and CP, favors invites arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- Im starting NOW so I dont get crazy later. GL!

That's nice - where are you getting them?
Im gonna get them from the Little Cigar Factory in Massapequa. I figure I will get the labels made up fairly soon and the cigars like maybe 2 weeks before his bday so they are fresh.

i know u said no chocolate, but what about if you did it in some cute foiled kind. Like if you do the car cake you were talking about get foiled car chocolates.
or they have poker chips or playing cards

I know - I feel like I just finished planning my wedding and I haven't really given this party much though (Horrible wife I know)
I booked the place without even seeing the room it would be in.
I like the roast thing because there is so much to roast my husband on. I JUST DON'T KNOW!!!!!
I am taking a friend of mine who just got engaged to my wedding planner this weekend so hopefully she will have some good ideas for me.

Tanaholic had a great idea- if he likes poker, set up the place the tables like poker tables and give out chocolate covered poker chips out as favors like 3 or 4 in tulle. the place settings and napkins do in poker colors black and red and maybe the table linens in green. you can put real chips around the cp's too.
ahahah I think you guys just gave me an idea, DH loves to play texas holdem! hmmmmmm

VERY CUTE. Now let me ask you guys another question - should I change the cake idea if I go with the poker theme? I was going to make the cake look like his car that he is in love with (442 Olds) -- maybe I should make it look like a deck of cards or something poker related now???

I actually saw the choc. poker chips in bed bath & beyond the other night, they came in a little plastic case. but i have seen them other places, ill search online for you in a min.
i like the whole poker theme, id get the cake to match it.
