If you were still single today would you do online dating?
Me and my girlfriends had a conversation about this because we want one of our single friends to try it and she is totally against it because she feels like she would feel even more rejected then she does now. I thought it would be an interesting question to pose to you guys.
Personally I would probably do it by now if i never met my DH. But i think i would answer to people who posted their profiles, i would not post my own profile.

I tried it before I met DH...I didn't have a good experience, so I would be reluctant to try it again/recommend it, but that's just me.

That is how I met DH! MANY people on here met through online dating so we are a little jaded 
BTW - I am just speaking about myself but I would never answer anyone who didn't have their profile up.

Honestly-- everyone does it.. so, there is nothing wrong with it. Especially if I was still single-- I was sick of the bar scene before I started dating my husband-- 3 years ago...

I would do online dating. I think that's just the way things are done now. My friend is doing online dating & having so-so success. Seems that the guys she is meeting are more into her than she is into them.

I think I would definitely try it. You can be exposed to so many more different types of people than if you just stay within the circles you run with.
I know so many people that have found their husband or wife online.

I definitely would. I met my friends online  , got a degree online, why not meet a SO online? I would be very careful about meeting in a public place, not giving out too much personal info., etc. There are some nuts out there.

I met DH online, and had I not met him, it still would have been my primary means of meeting people.
Set-ups were scarce because ALL my friends were married, and to be honest, it was always awkward if the set up did not work out. Whereas if I met someone on the 'net it was easier to walk away and not have to explain to whoever why the set-up did not work. And I am a teacher so the majority of my co-workers are women, so nothing really there either.
I was also lucky in that I had some very boring/uncomfortable dates, but I never met anyone loony.

I met my boyfriend that I am dating now online. Honestly, I am not into going to bars every weekend hoping to meet a man. I met about 5 guys before I met my boyfriend and I have to say for the most part they were all pretty great guys.

I met my DH online and honestly, if someone did not have photos posted, I didn't answer their emails. I just figured if they are serious about doing the online thing, it is not that hard to find someone with a digital camera or a scanner to help you get started. When I started, there were so many people on there, searching only people with photos just made it easier to narrow down the searches.
I think it is just like meeting people anywhere else. You might meet someone nice, you might meet a creep. It is just another way to meet people and you have to use good judgement in deciding how much personal info to give out and when you will give it out. One of the things I liked about the online dating stuff was that I didn't have to give ANY personal info, including an email address to anyone until I felt comfortable doing so. At Match.com. the email was filtered through the website and the address was just [email protected] or whatever.

Danielle and I met on there - I actually took my online profile off the day I answered Danielle's ad. I dont know if I would be on there today if I hadnt met Danielle.....but boy would I be sad. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me

I am on match now. I have been on it for almost a month. There are def. some crazy people on the site. I don't answer anyone without a picture or profile. I also don't meet anyone alone. I meet them at a bar with my friends there. I think it's worth a shot to join. I have heard a lot of success stories. If you think about it you have nothing to loose only gain...that's my outlook!

I know that a lot of the ladies on here have wonderful success stories!!!!!!!! I never considered it while I was single because I work in a bar and met most of my boyfriends there. If I had a less social job I probably would have given it a try.

If I were single today, I would be all over the speed dating thing...I think it just sounds like sooo much fun!!
I would also do the online dating thing but through a paid site so you know people are serious about the process. One of my friends put an ad on some free sight and about 90% of the people that replied were married or psycho (or both), 7% just wanted to get laid, 3% were decent people but not for her.

about 1/2 the people on the paid sites are there just to get laid too! At least according to DH
