Re: How good are your cooking skills?

I'm ok. I can follow a recipe and I think my food is edible. Of course, I'm not going around inviting people over for a dinner party. I've been really into making soups recently and most of those have turned out well.

I'm not creative at all. I need to follow the recipe word for word (except for omitting ingredients I don't like). I admire people who can just throw things together. My MIL is like that. She never follows recipes, and her food is wonderful.

I'm much more confident in my baking abilities. I love to bake.

I'm OK. Mostly everything I know how to cook DH taught me, since he's the one that cooks all the time.

I can make some great desserts but DH doesn't like dessert, so I dont get to practice as much any more.

I am pretty friggin good. (even if I do say so myself) I am no gourmet or expert, but I do like to try new things and most times I am successful.Chat Icon

I am pretty bad. And for some reason, DH wants me to cook all of the time. Nothing I ever make tastes "right" to him! Drives me nuts

Also, I am Italian, so I always ate pasta al dente and DH HATES it that way and gets mad if I make it that way. Annoying.

I am still learning and what I make is not gourmet, but it's totally yummy.
