I called the RE....need my results! Going crazy not knowing!
So I called RSofNY- blood levels all OK from Saturday (the TEN vials they took from me and three from DH) . That's a good thing!!!
They did HIV test too - which I always FREAK out about - and I dont really know why but ever since I was 18 I always freak out - and I wasnt even having sex when I first had an HIV test! LOL
The nurse I spoke to said its too early for the SA results (!?!?!?!) I thought that stuff only had a shelf life of about one hour!!?? I have no idea...
Do you guys have any idea how long that takes? She said they would only call back if there was a problem but I want to know the results of the SA anyway - guess I'll have to wait til I see my dr. again.
In the meantime, I'm waiting to ovulate...took a test today and it was negative. I dont expect to O until this weekend or even Monday or Tuesday but I'll use tests every day to make sure I dont miss it.

Seems like things are rolling for you. I think my SA test came back the next day.
What else did they check for with your blood??

DH had his SA on Saturday too. I asked Dr. Bray for his results yesterday and she said they would be back till later this week. She said they dod the stuff they need right away ( guess count and motility) and then they review the slides later (morphology) I guess. I am waiting too, and would love to know before my next IUI (which I figure will be Thursday or Friday) since DH's count was low last time.

Yeah, it took them a couple days to get my DH's SA back too.

Diane - Well I had 4 pages of scripts for my blood work and I cant understand half of what they write - but they tested testosterone levels, estridol levels, tested for HIV, tested to see if I'm a carrier for diseases like cystic fibrosis. I have to ask my RE what she tested for because 10 vilas of blood seemed like a lot to me.
Rose - GOOD LUCK with your IUI!!! I don't think I will O til the wk end so I will probably have mine next week.
Lauren - thank you!! I'm looking forward to my IUI and I'm soooo excited!

Apparently its all the blood work that they order for you when you are PG...I guess they are doing it now to just rule out any complications with the IUI procedure, etc.
But yeah Im glad they are being proactive!!

I'm up to 12 vials so far!! I had most of mine taken at a Quest lab but they were for pretty much the same things you mentioned - the genetic series, FSH, etc. Yesterday I just went for my progesterone (since it was 7dpo)
I can't wait for my appt on the 26th to discuss everything....

Yes, that is good. My RE will do all those tests right before you do IVF. Like you said it is better to get it done and out of the way now.
Im praying for you, and hope they get that SA back soon

I think I'm seriously closing in on 20 vials all together. Had 11 alone this weekend and over the last month I know I've had about 10. So much blood work!!

They test for all different diseased including genetic things. They are done for anyone PG, but since they are an RE they do them in advance. If you had gotten PG on your own, your OB would have drawn them. Be greatful your not jewish, thats like an extra 6 vials for the jewish genetic profile.

Oh Kathy, just wait...you will feel like they are the vampire kings. They take blood every time you go there ....you actually get used to it.
BTW, I noticed what you wrote about the weekend thing. I don't know if they told you or not, but if you peak on Sat. you should probably call them cuz they do IUI's every day, including Sunday....I know, we did it on a Sunday....so be ready, it may be on the weekend!

Rsofny...took three weeks to finally give us Dh's s/a and took two weeks to give me my Hsg results.....and that was with pleading to see a doctor. Dr. Cain went over it with us very vaguely........I think they just don't make a big deal of it unless there is a problem. All other results there have been given to me the very day I test.

Gerty - Yes I know, I feel like a pin cushion. I am used to one or 2 vials at a time, but 10 vials at once this wk end really got me. Good for me that I'm a good "bleeder" LOL! I filled up 8 vials in the time it took DH to fill 3!
Michele - WOW that is slow!!! Well, I was assuming they needed the SA results before we do IUI but maybe that's not the case. I'm going to be Oing within the next 5-7 days so I guess we have the green light unless told otherwise. They told me they only call you if there is a problem with blood work and SA), but I would like to know DHs count, motility, etc.

Next time you go, ask the Dr. again for the SA results...it took me about a week or so to get DH's...they just told me everything was fine.
