my mom called about my results of my Ct scan
She said that the doctor told her which is fine because i was at work said I have a cyst on my left side of my overies not my right like I thought it was and its a sizable one! I am so scared i have to go to the gyno for a appointment i am having my mom call because i am so scared. i have to have a sonogram to see how bad it is either i will need surgery or maybe take meds. Grrrrrr I am not happy!

Try not to worry that much! I had an ovarian cyst more than ten years ago.It was the size of a grapefruit. It actually had to be removed by surgery, but not such a big deal. With cysts there are different scenarios: you can be prescribed meds, it can go away on its own, you may need an operation... It is very important though to get that sonagram so they know how to help you and they can monitor it. Many , you'll be fine!!

Did you have any pain and did you know it was that big the cyst on the overie? i am hping thats all i have to do is go on the meds i will not be a happy person if i have to have surgery! Thank you so much for trying to keep me calm about it kath i really need to relax.

Roseann, I found out about my cyst after a trip to the gyno. She wanted me to give it a few months, get a sonogram and if it was still there it would need to come out. However, there are some types of cysts that go away on their own or can be treated with meds (I didn't have that type though ). Thats why that sonogram is pretty important!! Also, if you do neglect it, the cyst can rupture. I heard that is very painful. The operation wasn't exactly fun but I was glad to have it over with and removed. You may not even need one though that is why a trip to the gyno is important. I also didn't really have any pain so I was thankful that the doctor found it when she did.

see i have the pain i had it on the right side i really thought thats where it was but it wasn't on the right side its on the left. when i get my enemy it hurts really bad but now it does not hurt but now and than the pain comes back. i know the gyno is important and yes i am going to go for the sonogram which will relieve me once i hear its not that bad but it just keeps going and going all the bad things with me like i said earlier i must be a bad person because with the luck i am having it stinks!

there are a lot of women on here who have these cysts. myself included. some go away on their own, some through meds and others need to be surgically removed. my cousin had hers removed and i believe she takes bc pills to control them. they hurt...but you will be okay, i swear. and you aren't a bad person. they are more common than people think.

I agree with what cocoa said, they really are more common than you think.
I used to get them years ago, and they would throb and hurt so bad.
