Nuts are great...Also my aunt takes white chocolate....chops it up really small, dips the pretzels in dark chocolate and then quickly in the chopped up white chocolate...it looks and tastes great!

Re: Chocolate Covered Pretzels...home made

Can I ask you - how do you make chocolate covered pretzels? - Dumb question I know :) What kind of chocolate do you use and how do you melt it (double boiler type deal)?

I'm thinking about making them as favors for Logan's ChristeningChat Icon

Re: Chocolate Covered Pretzels...home made

I just did them this week and used pretzel rods. They were SO easy and came out great. I used sprinkles, non-pareills, mini M&Ms, red cookie sugar, and some plain.

I just used Toll House chips, melted them in the micro and dipped the rods right in!

I like to use:
~Mini M & M's
~Mini Peanut Butter Chips
~Coconut
~Chopped Nuts

Also, I like to dip them in milk chocolate, then melt some white chocolate & drizzle that over them, it looks really pretty.

Re: Chocolate Covered Pretzels...home made

you can use chips to melt or the colored candy discs (on sale for $1.99 at Michael's this week). You can also melt in microwave!

Do you dip the entire pretzel rod in the chocolate or only the tips?
TIA!

Ohhh...I Love chocolate covered pretzles! If melting in the microwave...do you do the whole bag of chips at once or in parts? I've never made anything like this before...but, would love to try it! Thanks.

I make the pretzels every year, so easy to do.
I usually use all of the stuff mentioned...sprinkles, mini m&m's, nuts, etc.
Another thing I do, is drizzle another color chocolate on them. Like red and green on milk for the holidays.

Another thing you can dip if you are doing the pretzels is oreos. They are soooo good! I usually decorate them a couple of mini m&m's on top.

you girls are great because i'm going to do this now too..I just bought the chocolate and the bags to put them in... For our aunts and uncles we're going to give them wine, and i'll make up some bags w/choco covered pretzels, marshmallows, oreos..yum..

I just got the chocolate fountain from BB&B... do you think it would be easy to use that to dip everything?
