Disney World Dining Question

We are going in January and I've already booked lunch with the princesses and Breakfast with Cinderella in her castle. Are there any other DO NOT MISS places to eat that I should make early reservations for? TIA

Re: Disney World Dining Question

I loved breakfast at Ohana at the Polynesian. It's character dining, and breakfast is served family style. I don't usually like the food at the character dining, but this was excellent!

I'm going Saturday, I can't wait!!!

Re: Disney World Dining Question

For Character Dining - I like the Crystal Palace in the MK especially during parade time, you hear the music see the parade and still have dinner with Pooh and Friends.

I also like Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Hotel, this you definitely have to make reservations for but it's great - Mickey is there which very rare.

Re: Disney World Dining Question

ANother vote for Chef Mickeys and Ohana's.
You can tie either one in with a day at the park, take the monerial to it.. eat.. then go back to park..
Phew, its exhausting with the kids.. lol ( done it a bunch of times already)

Although its not character the California Grill is amazing too and def needs reservations.

What exactly is Chef Mickey's??? I wouldn't really call it a "birthday party" - but there is singing and twirling of napkins- I usually head down to Disney at least 2x a year and the last time I went in May it was Mom (50+), Sisters (28 & 23) and Me (26) and had the best time - it's for all ages!!!!

Re: Disney World Dining Question

Chef Mickeys is a wonderful character breakfast and dinner ( I think dinner is funner)
Its a buffet. you have ALL the main characters walking around.. MIckey, Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale, PLuto, MInnie.. and more..
The food is pretty good for buffet food. It sits right down under the monerail at the contemporary hotel so you can see the monerail passing through.
Every 30 minutes or so ALL the characters come out together and everyone does this song.. and parade..
In my opinion is the funnest character place there is.
Prices were about 25 dollars a person when I was there a couple months ago.
Its really soooooooooo much fun, even for adults.
Oh and they have a make your own desert table where you can make a big mess and get down and dirty with your dessert!

Re: Disney World Dining Question

I guess you can call it like a birthday party.
I guess what they were trying to say was that it is THAT much fun.

Re: Disney World Dining Question

I am not sure what kind of places you are looking for...

At MGM there's the 50's Prime Time Diner where the waitresses are very interactive...they treat you like family and tell you to eat your veggies & keep elbows off the table. That sort of thing.

At MK...DH & I like Casey's Hot Dogs. It's at the end of Main Street in front of Cindy's Castle. It's just hot dogs & fries and such but they are really yummy. Seating is outside where there's a ragtime piano player.

Resort restaurants:
Beach Club...
Beaches & Cream which is an ice cream parlor with the best burgers.
Cape May Cafe - they have a fantastic clam bake buffet dinner. Lots of choices and I don't even eat seafood.

Port Orleans Riverside:
We really like Boatrights which is the table service menu there. The best part is in the River Roost (which is the lobby lounge) is the piano player Bob Jackson. He puts on a GREAT show Thurs - Sat or maybe Wed too. He engages the kids and calls them up on stage...he really gets the place going.
