Recieved Good & Bad news today
My cousin who lives up in Rye, NY just had her baby  the other day (Thursday). She had some trouble at first breathing on her own, so was put on C-Pap to help her breath and was in the NICU. The baby is doing much better and after a day or two, was back on room air. My cousin was discharged yesterday alone and baby had to remain hospital for one more night of observation. Well, she thought today was going to be a very happy day to bring home her new addition, till she recieved a phone call. Just the day prior (Monday) her nephew who lives just up the block from her was hit by a van and killed. He was only 10 years old. She and her DH were so sadden by this news and in shock. She didn't even want to bring the baby home today, because she couldn't think straight. I felt so terrible when I heard this news. As a parent it really makes you think of how precious our children are and just in a minute, they can be swept away from us. Thanks for listening.

I feel sick to my stomach just reading what happened to that poor boy. My heart goes out to your cousin and her family, how devastating. I can only imagine what they are going through, I dont think I'd be able to think straight either. Wow, how sad, I know this is going to stay in my head now as well.
