THAT question... what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
I dislike this holiday so intensely but still succumb to the peer pressure every year to have something planned. So, what are you guys doing so I can bite off your ideas

Re: THAT question... what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
We're going to a parents party at my friends house which means kiddies included. We'll probably play cards and stuff while the kids tear poor Maggie's house apart

Re: THAT question... what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
We were going to go out to a fancy dinner and maybe a bar but we found out we have my stepson, which is a first, his mother has NEVER let us have him on a holiday, must have somethin to do with the new boyfriend. Anyway, she offered to keep him and send him to his grandmothers, but we said no way, he is 13 and I am sure he doesn't want to ring in the new year with his 80 year old grandma, eating a tv dinner and in bed by 8. So we are taking him and inviting people over for a little party!!!

Re: THAT question... what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
Well I want to do the whole Times Square thing, DH is so against it. I think I am going to get him into the city, go out to dinner and a bar, then beg him to venture into the crowd. I don't have to be up close, just there.
He wants to stay on Staten Island, hook up with our friends and go to dinner.
I was set to go to Capitale with my cousin, but now DH doesn't have to work, which I am glad, but he isn't into New Years. I spent 200 on my ticket, so I when I sell it, I am going to surprise DH with it and maybe it will put him more in a partying mood

Re: THAT question... what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
Honestly, nothing much. I am not a fan of NYE either and hate to be on the roads late at night (usually because of deer, this time because of deer and drunks).
We will probably go to dinner and come home fairly early (before midnight). We are going to see if my brother and SIL want to come up for the night and I'll whip up brunch the next day.

I am also not a huge fan of New Year's Eve and have had some really disasterous ones. This year, we are just going to go to dinner at the restaurant where a family member works.

Re: THAT question... what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
Don't worry about the peer pressure! The year we stayed home was my favorite.
This year we are going over a friend's house. Not really a party--I think there will be 6 of us, and their 7 month old son sleeping upstairs.

Re: THAT question... what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
My friend had a parrty last year that looks like it'll be an annual thing. It's soooo expensive and overrated to go out.

I hate this holiday.
We are just going over to DHs cousins. I wish I could just go to bed early and avoid the whole thing!

Re: THAT question... what are you doing for New Year's Eve?
Going to my parents house for dinner and dessert.
We've celebrated it there for many years now - and we always have our hats and noisemakers ready at the strike of midnight - we have a great time.
I can't stand the crowds and refuse to go out on NYE - especially now that im just about 8 months pregnant.
