OMG, I HAVE to have one. It's such a treat for the baby!

BTW, I was told by a BTDT mom that the DEX travel warmer warms them better than the regular one. It's only 16.99 at BRU

I dont understand why everyone doesnt have one. No matter what people say a warmed wipe is SO much nicer than a cold one.

Re: Do I reeeeeeeally need a wipe warmer?

I returned mine...according to the class I took on infant basics, the nurse told me "how cold will your wipes really be?" Also it may be hard to keep warm when your out of the house.

I opted to have 1 less thing to plug in and keep up with in the nursery.

I'm sure everyone's opinion will be different!

Re: Do I reeeeeeeally need a wipe warmer?

i agree i guess its the same logic they tell you about heating the formula...dont heat it to much becuase it will be harder on yourself, when you are out and cant warm a bottle the baby wont take it

Re: Do I reeeeeeeally need a wipe warmer?

I wanted the warmer because my son was born in Oct and I didnt want to use chilly wipes on his little newborn tush...

and Shana I had both a regular one and a travel one and I returned the regular one as it dried out the wipes....now for the travel one I had to fill up more since it held less but I just put it on top of the tub of wipes and filled as needed and they NEVER dried out!

Total waste IMO. Just hold the wipe in your hand for a second. Your baby won't know the difference.

I never used one. I like to use the sensitive skin wipes and those are really soft and not as cold as the regular ones anyway

Re: Do I reeeeeeeally need a wipe warmer?

They are actually dangerous. The heat dries out the wipes and if you do not add water you can start a fire.
Also, it makes it VERY hard to change your baby when you are not home with the warmer. The baby gets upset when the wipes are not very warm and you can't warm them in the car, at grandma's etc...

I agree, it is one more thing that your baby will get used to and will amke your life difficult at toher times. For years moms have been wiping butts with "unwarmed" wipes and all these kids are just fine.

Not to mention it dries out the wipes at the bottom and we spend enough money on things used to clean and catch poop, without wasting some cause they dried out.

Just my opinion.

All of my friends said it was a total waste so I didn't register for one.

Amen to that!

Try one out on yourself, they are really not cold.

Waste IMO - (I also agree with the fire hazard theory)

Re: Do I reeeeeeeally need a wipe warmer?

I was just thinking about returning the one I got at my shower.... It's been 2 months and haven't felt the need to use it. When the wipes were cold I would just hold it in the palm of my hand until it warmed up.

Re: Do I reeeeeeeally need a wipe warmer?

I had one and loved it!! Esp if you have a winter baby!!! They are all nice and toasty and in the middle of the night you throw a chilly wipe on their bottom? Chat Icon

I used the wipe warmer at home and regular wipes when we went out and it was fine but in the winter I really preferred a warm wipe!

Re: Do I reeeeeeeally need a wipe warmer?

I got one at my shower and never used it once....I am not really sure why. I set it up, etc., but ended using my pack-n-play for diaper changes downstairs....
I can understand both reasonings here...how nice to have a warm wipe, especially in the winter! But, also, totally unnecessary.

Never used it and the baby never had a problem with a regular wipe. Couldn't imagine using it.

Re: Do I reeeeeeeally need a wipe warmer?

I heard its a waste of $. I Never had one and I heard, then the babies get used to it and if you dont use it when you are at the mall, etc... at someones house, they dont like the cold.
