Our anniversary weekend was great.. in large part thanks to our wonderful friends Don & Boosh!
(updated at bottom of thread)
I posted on Friday that DH & I were not going to be able to celebrate our anniversary today, since we both had to work, so instead celebrated this weekend. DH started things off wonderfully with a beautiful flower arrangement from Laurie of LaBlossom (Click here for link to flower pics) and then told me that the rest of the weekend was a surprise...(more about that later)
But before we left Saturday for our romantic weekend getaway to NYC, imagine both OUR SURPRISE when we received the most thoughtful, wonderful and GENEROUS gift .. from none other than our best friends, LIFs very own Don & Boosh. Don and Chris sent us 2 bottles of wine along with a gorgeous basket filled with cheese, crackers, nuts and chocolate... the most divine food I've ever tasted and just such an incredibly thoughtful gift.. Here are some pics:
There really are no words to describe how wonderful Don and Christine are. They have been there for me in good times and bad and I appreciate them more than they'll EVER realize. For those of you not lucky enough to know them in "real life" all I can say is that you are missing out - I feel fortunate to have met and gotten to know them over the course of my time both on LIWs and now here on LIFs
I am forever grateful for the day I signed up on LIWs as a bride to be, for without having done so I would have never met 2 of the best friends I've ever had in my entire life!
So thank you , my dear friends... we love you !!!

Um ... lets just say that Mr. Met would NOT have gone over well  .. ask Anthony sometime what I reaaaaaaaaally think about Mr. Met ... he freaks me out!

The rest of our weekend was really great, thanks for asking Lisa
DH took me "away" to Manhattan and we had a really nice time. He splurged for the romance package (including champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.. a wonderful breakfast on Sunday morning.. ) and booked us the suite at the Milennium Hotel downtown. The room was beautiful and the hotel was really nice! Oh and for the MEN out there, each room (even standard rooms) come with a PLASMA TV.. so Dh was PSYCHED!! 
Its crazy because even though I work in NYC and don't really appreciate it as much as I should, its so different to be there when you can relax and really soak up the city and see it through a different light.. I work in Midtown and hardly EVER go downtown .. so I really enjoy Soho, Tribeca, the Village atmosphere..
We just relaxed, walked around the city, hung out and enjoyed the beautiful weather in Battery Park.. and went to a wonderful dinner at Il Buco (fabulous restaurant, highly recommended)
So all in all, DH DONE GOOD Honestly as I posted on Fri night, the flowers shocked me more than anything! This was a guy who hardly paid attention during the wedding planning so I was highly impressed he went to all that trouble
AND he just now sent me a dozen roses to the office - WOW, who replaced my DH and what did they do with him?? ( LOL .. J/K)
Thanks everyone again for your kind thoughts and well-wishes!
PS: Unfortunately, though, we have no pictures ... we took a TON of pics BUT the only "lowlight" of the weekend was that we lost our camera on the subway .. I wasn't so sad about losing the camera really, it was losing ALL those pics and memories our our 1st anniversary weekend.. We posted an ad on Craigslist in the hopes somone found the camera BUT I am not too hopeful

I'm so glad you had such a nice weekend...GREAT job by your awesome DH!
And I just have to say that although I don't know Don & Boosh...they sound like wonderful people and friends. What a very nice and generous gift.
