Absolutely nothing! I get depressed in the Fall that the summer is over and all I can think about is the LONG winter ahead!

fall always reminds me of visiting Rich at school in Cortland. We'd always drive to the Dryden area and go apple picking, get pumpkins, sit out in the fields and watch the stars, etc.
I love the smell of the air, the smell of the spice candles my Mom always burned in the fall, and of course, wearing sweaters, jeans, and boots

Apple picking
and FH promised to take me to New England or upstate this year to see pretty foliage and just relax for a couple of days. If anyone ahs any ideas or tips (lori!) please letm e know
If you plan on staying anywhere they may be booked already. Usually Columbus Day weekend is peak time up there. You can do a day trip since it's only approx 2 hrs. North, but most likely a full weekend is your best bet.

I HEART FALL
I also love fall because it's my Birthday and my Anniversary
Why else would be HM & plan our 1 yr Anniversary in VT
ETA: If you go up the weekend of the Arts Walk in Hudson, Columbia County you may see my Nephew there. Last year they asked him to participate. A group of selected kids are on the street painting portraits of people...it's adorable! I do have to say my Nephew is the BEST!

Cider, the changing colors of the leaves, and the "smell" of fall. I love it.

Ok...if you're looking VT I would HIGHLY suggest a romantic weekend at Equinox Resort & Spa. This is where we went on our HM and are going again for our 1 yr. Anniversary trip.

Again, keep in mind peak is early than it would be around here.
*Or there's a number of B&B in the area - Manchester Village - approx 4 hrs from you and me (FS)

Quiet times
Sound of the leaves crunching as I'm walking through the trails.
I'm originally from upstate - We live in between the Catskills Mtns & the Birkshire Mtns. You just can't get a nice fall on LI (IMHO). So I ALWAYS make it up around peak time up there. It's heavenly!
When I lived up there I would spend hours on end hiking and just being outside.
This is why I love fall - Autumn

I love the sweaters and jeans and sneakers!
I even love raking the leaves on my lawn.
I love making out under the covers on really cold mornings.

I love putting on a jacket.
I love Thanksgiving!
I love rosey cheeks and noses.
I love that my first anniversary is in the fall.

Fall is my most favorite time of year. I love when the air feels crisp and you first start wearing light sweaters. I love apple picking and Halloween, and my anniversary. And this fall will be the best yet- my due date is October 20!
